My music at purevolume (Cheez)

Hi, decided to upload my songs to purevolume site. Easier to handle, rather than reposting repeatedly in SOFT using yousendit. Enjoy.

More music to come - after my notebook gets repaired. I'm going to repair it for the 3rd time in 2 months - Acer has really bad tech support...

Very nice arrangement, if my dream of making a feature film ever happens I would like to ask you to write some music scores for it :)

cheers

Thanks guys. I also made the music at a higher bit rate for more clarity (160 to 192 kbps).

Thanks guys. If you heard Processional before, it is either here at SOFT or else at my sister's wedding in 2002 in Chijmes.

Music created with Gigastudio, Logic and a midi controller keyboard. No outboard modules.

Beautiful songs. Especially Missing You and Professional. Maybe you should let some film makers listen to your stuff. Your songs has the soundtrack-ish feel :D

Bravo!!! :smt038 :smt041 :smt038 :smt041 :smt038
so i no need everytime irritate you to repost & repost again...
Like your music very much.
Very enjoy when listen to your music... :smt020

I looking forward for more to come...

man..the first song can definitely be introduced into a game like warcraft!!gj cheez!!

Thanks! Missing You was the first song I did using totally rubato - ie no metronome, totally free timing. For people using sequencers, you'll know that it's quite tricky without strict timing.

Anyway, my next one will be one dedicated to SOFT - hopefully I can capture the energy and diversity of SOFT musicians. Don't want to spoil it by revealing too much... My notebook still needs to be repaired before that can be done.

wow...processional...at first i thought it was a cover of the forest gump theme...but it turned out different! Keep up the good work! :D

You're sharp, Frummer!

My sister gave me 4 criteria for her processional music for her wedding:
1. Simple
2. Sounds like "Forest Gump"
3. Feels like a walk in the garden (???)
4. 3 days to finish (I was overseas and arrived in Singapore 3 days before her wedding)

This is one piece I wrote that I didn't quite like. Anyway, we all learn to write music for others not to suit our own tastes but others. I don't do covers due to copyright (although I did perform David Foster's "St Elmo's Fire" once in another wedding) - I don't like "copying" others' style. In this case, I had no choice.

Now that the "secret" is out, I think I'll replace it with some other music... :D

did u save ur music in low quality?

I save all my music as wav files (1411 kbps), then convert them to mp3 of different bit rates depending on how large the file is. Purevolume allows 8 MB per file to upload - hence I am able to upload in 160 to 192 kbps. I find anything less than 160 kbps to cut off too much of the higher frequencies - so that tends to be my minimum standard.

Did it sound of low quality from purevolume?
