My Guitar Mod!!!

I honestly don't think I NEED scallops. Rather, I WANT it..

Scallops were never a need for any musician in the first place. Always starts with the wants. Get hooked to it, then it becomes NEED. Extreme addiction will result in major bitching of normal fingerboards failing to perform up to standard.

prae seems to have a lot of connections.

LED's are gonna cost about $250/= for entire neck, in dot layout. But you need to squeeze in a 9v battery somewhere, chances are in a new hole. I also heard LED's affect the tonal qualities of the guitar.

Seeing as how mine is a Super Wizard neck, LED's + scallops = nonexistant tone.

So I guess I'll forgoe the scallops. Ah well.

Man... I had a bad run in...

Sent the guitar in for a rewiring, installing the new 5-way Gotoh switch, push pull vol pot for out of phase, fender no-load tone pot...

Now, the guitar came back with messed up wiring. 1 position on the switch didn't work... push pull was crackling and so was the no load tone pot. Very unhappy, sent it to Randolf, he reported the new Switch and Push Pull pots were damaged and the wiring was shoddy.

I lost a good deal of cash that day.

In the end, Randolf helped me rewire to Ibanez specs... and the only special thing is the no load tone pot.

I decided against refretting... no need for that till maybe a year's time?

Anyway... I had an X2N installed... but thats going soon, getting a Tonezone to replace it... the X2N is great but I would like something less hot... ;)

man I'm sorry to hear that. If you would like, you could tell us which tech butchered your guitar, for the benefit of the other softies.

what does the no load tone pot do anyway?

heh, seems like you go through pickups like old clothes.

there is this band who played in tribute to helloween gig who did tat to their gtrs...they had lights on them n e stage when dark...cool guys...i think i was behind them tat day at burger kings cineleisure...haha they shud be softies too....HEY guys! u there!?? haha...identify urself....haha..

I don't want to reveal the shop's name becuase I went back to that shop and the owner REFUNDED me the cash. Becuase of that, I will go back. :)

But not to the tech that is.

The Fender No Load Tone Pot is a 250k tone pot (I wanted a warmer tone so I decided to go 250k despite having 2 hum config). Works like a normal tone pot from 1 - 9... at 10 it clicks into position and bypasses itself. So its like having no tone pot there. Increased brightness and makes the tone more cutting.

how much does scalloping cost? played on a scalloped neck recently... shiok la, thinking of getting it done on my guitar

LED like Mr Vai heh.

good on the shop owner then. Bring it to another tech for your desired mods? Since you got the money back anyway.

That No Load thing sounds cool. But don't think I'll be needing it since I hardly touch my tone knob.

I'll be bringing the guitar to Randolf now onwards...

The mods will prob be as follows...
Push Pull vol to go out of phase.

Thats all.

So sad.

I wanted so much more... :(

Anyway!!!! Here's the before and after.... :) But before the X2N was installed.
