my frets are coming out, what do i do?

so my guitar is past a decade old, and the frets are starting to stick out at the ends. so much so that the first string keeps getting caught in between. i'm thinking of hammering it in with a mallet, but i think that would still damage it. any ideas? really appreciate the help.

The bigger the damage, the more its going to cost, if its past a decade old, the frets still in place could be worn out actually, refret could do the whole guitar good

hammer that damn fret!!! but knock very firmly... dont give it multiple knocks(like die lovelovelovelovelove!die!).... but try to knock at least 3 tymes? centre and the two sides.... if got dent then file it! or sould u sand it? hmmm...
btw use plastic mallets more safer lol

you can do that yes but that usually causes fret buzz. in the end still have to send to a tech to level the frets after hammering them in.

Due to age, humidity & other enviromental factors the wood on your axe will then toshrink over the years ... hence why the frets are either getting loose & / or sticking out.

If its an expensive, worthwhile "to do" axe - suggest you go to a qualified luthier to get it remedied ..

whacking in the frets? Not advisable - but if you do try it ... take vid & post here .. :mrgreen:
