My darling got stepped right in the face and cracked.

My toshiba laptop got stepped and the screen cracked.
i still can see the screen but the lap top is like 3 months old ):

is there any shop in singapore that can fix the screen because on my previous laptop the screen cracked too and i went to jurong point to seek help and they said i have to bring it back to the manufacturer.

Yes, you have to go back to Toshiba to get it fixed. And warranty does not usually cover damage, only manufacturer defects. And the price? Probably will set back your GAS for quite a period of time.

just bring it to sim lim, walk around and ask them quote you a price for changing lcd. you'll be amazed at the range of prices they'll give. just go for the lowest

A new LCD screen itself will cost at the very least $400 plus... Big setback for GAS. But at least they can do it on the spot for you, and very quickly too.

I bought the Dell Complete Cover Insurance for about $300 when I got my laptop about 2 years ago. It has been through 2 mobo changes, 3 LCD screen replacements, 1 CPU Fan replacement so far, all for free Gotta love Dell Support. Call toshiba and ask I guess?

i reckon your warranty would have already been void, now that your screen is cracked, i don't know about toshiba, but most of the companies do not cover lcd damages, but if u were to have it fixed at the manufacturer's then they;ll prolly give you warranty for the lcd. not that third party shops don't offer warranty though,

broken LCD screen are usually not covered under warranty.
Its pretty hefty as well...

lol for a moment there, I thought the title was referring to your girlfriend or good friend's face being stepped on at a gig! i thought it was something severe so I thought what horrible thing happened :S Must have been the 'My Darling' part that confused me. :O Anyway, have you tried bringing your laptop to Simlim?

If it's under warranty, most likely they can still change it for you.
