MXR Dyna Comp VS Marshall ED-1 Compressor

Well as u guys can see my "Signature" below,

i use a Marshall G15RCD amp, and i hv my versatile Jackhammer (JH-1) which has DIST and OD, but i always use the OD, and i use the GE-7 to shape the sound and sometimes boost the leads or rhythm! Dats juz for dirty.

As for cleans, i use a CH-1, DD-3 ... i knw practice amp and jamming amps will sound different ... so now ... do u tink a compressor will be a gd use or a redundant pedal in my rig?

Thanx mates!
Cheers!

Actually.. brokenwingz, just go and try them. :)

There's a SHARE thread above, go ask some ppl to let you try... bring your rig along.

Dont believe anyone that says a compressor is so transparent that it dosnt sound any way being compressed while in use althought they are sure the compressor is working. Coz i think they might be using a true bypass looper actually

That is true.

btw, i believe that if you not using a quality tube amp, then the effect of compression will not fully manifest itself. If you want to increase your sustain, then you simply need more gain in your signal. Some people use compressors instead of OD boxes but that sounds kinda lame. If you have the gain but ure lookin for alittle more attack and sustain then get a compressor. The Supercomp wont squish your tone or over compress it, it only has light compression, just enough.
Anyway I think this box is 10X more valuabe when your working with tube clean/distortion because you really FEEL the dynamics which is a sexual feeling.

you contradicted yourself there. or maybe the point wasn't clear.

AND, alot of us went off point haha :P i think he started the thread to help him decide which compy to get

Well... actually... brokenwingz isn't sure what a comp does... so... we had to deviate for a while... :P

Comps = cool stuff... I'm starting to find them an absolutely must for clean tones esp with thin strings...

Ur rite Shred! Actually i knw dat a compressor gifs a certain amount of compression in some way as in like tone and string "articulation" and stuff but not really the exact full function of it as in the Attack and stuff!

But thanx alot guys for the input! every letter of them was very useful in helping improve my understanding and knowledge abt compressors! i would still in the Dark if it werent to u guys!

Heartfelt appreciation!

hey compressor guys actually the marshall 'the compressor' as mentioned above is good ! good price some more ! honestly i dont believe in the price :) if it works for you it just works for you :) cheers :)
