hehe im from INDIA....its a lovely country with a musical heritage that spans centuries and by the way the first guitar was in India...or so i am told...

Can someone gimem directions to Sembawang music???

Actually I only have one Steve Vai album and that is Passion & Warfare. It's not like a typical guitar record but more of a soundscape experience. It's one of my all time favourite records I gotta say.

bluepowder: i think it's called sembawang music center. it has branches in many shopping malls in s'pore. should be hard to miss.

Oh man nocturnus, although i always sugges tthat people should get his albums in chronological order..just to see his evolution as a musician...I would suggest you get some of the following albums...

Alien Love Secrets
Alive in an Ultra World
Fire Garden
Reflection(very cool too)

or you could try some anthologies:
The vai anthology is a double cd set of his best works....

the 7th song-is a collection of his a best guitar ballads which always occur as the seventh song in his album as vai is a firm believer in numerology,so his association of numbers and the number 7 with the egyptian system i think is very strong...u can read about it on his site..

alright guys i am gonna go do some work now..catchyall later

ah... back from lunch! :)

Alien love secrets is killer. Very killer. There's this song thats played with a strat (yeah, Vai used a strat), I can't rem the title, but it was clean guitar thru out, with a heavily delay-ed distortion solo...

Alive in an Ultra World is MIND BLOWING. The concept was staggering. Very cool live album.

Vaiyeh, foursome? You ah. Always into this kind of things. We'll talk more abt that later, how's the sparkle drive?

So you're the other buyer for it... heh

hehe i think ur talking about boy from seattle....lovely clean song......i aklways thought vai could have been an amazing jazz player but then that would restrict him too much....so he just stays VAIish....

Alive in an ultra world...the kinda album thats never been released...songs written and recorded in less than 10 mins...unbelievable shows his class and knowledge as a player.....apart from really kickass tunes..i wish he had made a song for India also but he stayeda round the Europe area....

Vai used the strat in reflections a lot tooo....he seems to love strats...never heard him using a les paul though....hehe

PS whats a sparkle drive....is it a fivesome now??

Oh yeah! Boy from Seattle. Excellent bluesy number there. :)

For Alive, he had the band do rehearsals during showchecks! Amazing amazing stuff...

Don't know about the Les Paul thing... it would look really weird... unless the LP had a floyd in it. Yummy!

Sparkle drive is a dirt box. :) Voodoo Labs. Check it out.

Hop on over the Guitar- Gear... there's a boutique thread there... we can make it a 10!

hehe yea....i totally forgot bout the whole whammy part of it...but use it zakk wylde and we got a whole new kinda les paul...

Hmm im a multi effects man myself...so i dont really know about all these pedals....i tried once to buy single stompboxes.....but i could not get all the kinds of sounds i needed...and i cant buy 3 different kinds of pedals for 3 diff sounds...so i thought hehe the gt-8 is just amazing for me.... :D
