i was at the stated site! and i saw dat the Gibson Les Paul Supreme cost S$5000 (rounded up), which is actually US$3099.99

Im like What The Fark, dat guitar costs like $7000 ++ at Swee Lee lor!
Dat guitar is on my GAS list which is my next target to get! Orgasmic man ...
i look at it and i start to drool!!!!!!

SO now ... Q is,

1) Anybody bought stuff from them before? If got can review pls? Eg, trustable and stuff?
2) Izit a good idea to get it from there?

Any advice?

one of my old bandmates bought stuff pretty regularly from them..they're quite reliable, but keep in mind that they have very high sales volume so customer service might not be a+++

i bought my schecter 006 blackjack from there, as well other misc stuff like straps and shit. no problems so far, standard fast transections that big online shops like mf/music123/samash should exhibit.

do keep in mind the shipping costs to ship them over to singapore. unless you can eliminate the shipping costs somehow (e.g. hand carry just like my schecter), then will ordering online from them be worthwhile. might as buy local where you can test.

anyway about mf.com and the other us online shops, i understand that they now accept paypal and are linked with vpostusa's service already. much easier to buy from them now i presume.

haha the free shipping is to US address only! you have to pay the shipping back to singapore! they dont even ship to singapore at all if i rememeber, you need to use VPOST or something, which is going to cost alot.

for me, i got my uncle in US to carry the schecter i delivered to his place (take note, free shipping). he carried it back by hand when he visted singapore recently. that way, i paid zero shipping costs, and saved about 150+ instead of getting it locally (wasnt available in the first place)

one should not simply take the price off a US website to be compared to the current, local list price. there are many factors accounting for the local list price, the finer disclosure of which remains with the distributor.

the deal with Gibson products these days is that you have to hunt down a good unit. flaws & unbecoming production tell-tale signs are aplenty. i bought an LP Std recently, the quality of which isn't immaculate but very acceptable.

You know, it sounds like a good deal. However like buying guitars online, there's always the element of risk cos you can't try it. More often than not, you might find something its good for less when you try it for real. I won't include the possibility for now about damages during shipping since you'll probably have thought of that. Problem is, even with high end Gibsons, you would find workmanship that don't meet your expectations occasionally. Especially since you're forking out such an amount, your expectations are also much higher. You can go try some and you'll know what I mean.

You'll probably end up feeling worse about paying so much for something you feel doesn't live up to your expectations. My advice is still to try it for real and decide from there. Btw, is 7K list price? You might want to ask for their selling price to you. Its probably a safer bet if you pay a bit more for a greater piece of mind.

errr i think so, dono wads its name, cant remember... but its next to guitar 77 so u cant miss it, the one with the higher end guits palced in a seperate smaller room. u wont miss the les paul supreme, a real beauty that will catch ur eye, next to it is a translucent black sg supreme and a grey colour custom shop firebird
