Music made in Singapore

Has anyone heard anything about "Parking Lot Pimp"? Is their album still coming out in Feb are they gigging anywhere?

lol boredphucks got one track called ...

aiya this boredphucks band is quite funny...there is a Ai Sio Kan Mai track. english, chinese, hokkien. quite nice music though...quite crude but funny. hahahha...the title means, want sex? lol

still other bands like electrico, rafe and ronin all that rox ;)

Corrine may is great!

ya man, corrine may is nice, i bought her album , fly away, some of the best local stuff i have heard. nice composition, lyrics, and a soulful tune to boot. :D

talk about local bands, you can't miss B-quartet and Syawla Evol man. These two bands are awesome, B-quartet showcases technicality, whereas Syawla Evol, is their sense of funky-groove and not to mention cute lead singer and bassist.(side note). If u guys find the time, should check these boys out.

The local scene is filled with great bands with original songs, only lack recognition. My picks fer local music. My two cents worth at least.

Electrico
Rafe
B-quartet
Syawla Evol
Ugly in the Morning
Soul Circle
Force Vomit
Zhen
Native Stalk

there are many more out there. but one thing fer sure is that there's jus too many punk bands around. and sorry to say, their punk ain't impressive. come on locals lets support our own.

Anyone heard of CAMRA?

hi i'm new here. heard a band called CAMRA on saturday at the esplanade. Quite mind blowing band they are, heard they've been around since mid 90's?? they just came out with an album and its quite different from what other bands have come out with. heard of them or the album?? anyone?

whoa..if i m not wrong they were featured before on one of Big-O's free cds. along with crack healer and Livonia..
and that's like late 90s
Camra..hmmm

Yeah, i found that out from my brother too. There was'nt a girl playing with them on Saturday though...oh well, maybe we can get SOFT to review their album? Honestly, i've heard it and it sounds refreshing coming from a local band. its not very local like....if ya know what i mean..

What's Soul Circle's style of music like? Do you know if I can get any samples of their stuff? :)

Hi indie girl,

Jessica, the keyboardist has left the band.

Their debut album, Normally Open is currently out now. We should have a review of it in the May issue of our web-zine. The album is also one of the prizes that we are giving for our April issue's contest. Join it and win several other acts' CDs as well! :) In addition, we are gonna start an interview with them soon. Probably, that will come out in the May issue as well. Keep a lookout for that!

Like what GrimBrody said, they were last featured in the BigO singles club. No. 5 I thk? Normally Open is very interesting. I haven't heard any local album till date with so many orchestral strings on it. To boot, they even got sitars and tablas on it too! To me, they sound like defunct Brit band, The Verve circa 'A Northern Soul' era but they told me that they hope that that Verve comparison will die off...

:D

woot...i remember their bassist had that vintage paul mccartney bass..

if i m not wrong lah..hehe..
saw em at a gig held in the then Levis boutique in Suntec..

pretty haunting melodies if u ask me..love the dreamy tunes. :)
