metal muff settings

i managed to swap my big muff for a metal muff with my friend, but i would like to know how to tweak the eq for the metallica sort of sound.think 'master of puppets'.

help is much appreciated.

A general guideline would be to scoop the mids.....tweak it such that the mids is much lower than bass and treble.

On a scale of 10, something like:
Bass - 7
Mids - 2
Treble - 7

boost the bass and treble, cut the mids.

Play in a band with this setting and your bassist will hate you.

i will try to tweak it again today.can't find that sound i want.if i still cannot get it, i think i will sell it.

The metal muff would be my first choice for stoner rock riffing and creating a formidable wall of dirt than Hetfield style palm muting. The proceedings can get pretty messy. You have been warned.

i used to major major major gas attacks for this pedal. lucky i lived through it. sometimes even when it comes to metal more gain doesnt always equate to better metal tones for me. i stack 2 overdrives for my metal tones now. hahha

borrow an EQ pedal from your friend or go try your setup at blackwood.

Its quite difficult for us to suggest, how's your tone now? What direction you want to head to? What do you feel is lacking?

Too thin? Too thick? Too heavy? Too high?

Try this, set ur amp clean, tone at noon

Settings at 'o clock positions

Bass 1
Mid 9
Treble 2

Boost 10
Dist 2-3

Are you using the crybaby with the muff?
If so, try putting it behind

Start playing, then turn the gain on ur amp up slowly

Try it, let us know then what you think, and what you expect. Then maybe can help from there once you got a benchmark.

Another setting:-

Amp:
Tone noon
Dist max

Metal muff
Dist 9
EQ as above
Top boost 9
Someone has the same setup as you, or similar
