Played tat to death when teaching in a music school/store. A really basic set wif limited midi capabilities and the construction is sumwat flimsy. Already having a small surface area for the pads, the existence of the rims further act as a hindrance. A cheap set, ya, and wif it comes a cheap and not-so-desirable experience.

I got an offer for a second hand Medeli DD602 .. but im not sure of the quality.. but im a beginner and my practice hours are not fixed and its often late nights cox of my work. should i just buy this electronic set ?

The Medeli is value for money (probably the cheapest edrums), but the pads are not mesh so the sound of your sticks hitting the pads will be quite loud, dun think you can play in the middle of the night. Go try it

the thing about those kinda pads is that it feels like you're hitting tables with a cloth on top of it.

I am also a beginner whose practice hours are not fixed and would be very often at night. I went to check out Swee Lee, Yamaha, Luther Music Works and Ranking today. Found the following drums

They are at different price. The Roland is $2Kplus, The Yamaha DT Explorer if I didn't get it wrong is $12XX. The Alesis DM5 sounds like a better buy $8XX but no middle tom, to add a tom there is less than $100 additional charge. I found a practice pad that costs $2XX in Ranking.

Does anyone has the 2nd hand of the mentioned models? I am on a very tight budget I can't afford anything more than $1K. Please give me some advise...

roland td3 is bout S$2100-2300 wif throne and a iron cobra ....yamaha dtxpress3 special(nt sure whether they still have stock)is bout S$2300-2500 wif the 'operate like real ' hihat ..... wif no pedal and throne i tink ...as for the pintech it is onli S$1650 ask alvin to gif u disc ha
