Hey guys,

Im eyeing on Mbox 2 Mini and I wanna know what's you guys' view on this product..

1) Is the sound quality good? Able to make recording that sound like cds?

2) Can it work with logic express?

3) How much does it cost?

4) Where can i buy it?

5) Lastly, are there any other considerations + is it a good value buy?

Thank you!

theres a whole lot more other things to make sound like cd.

The audio interface is an external soundcard to convert analog signal to digital signal for recording into computer environment. The raw files recorded straight from the audio interface usually need to be shaped further with other stuff from software/hardware before having the end result of what we hear in cd or recording.

If a music cd is in the form of a house, an audio interface is like a door. But what make the house a house is the interior layout/decoration, furnitures and stuff. The door is just the beginning and not the whole house. Something in that vein

PRMoe : love the house analogy man.

powerballad : firstly pls read http://tinyurl.com/diyrecording if you haven't.

my answers for your questions :
1) MBox 2 Mini isn't going to replace anything the professionals use. Unless you can record/mix and "deceive" a fake professional sounding sound out of it. it's like taking a piece of shit, blending it with loads of 99% cacao chocolate and boxing it in a Godiva brand. almost no one is going to taste the shit because the 99% cacao "MIXING" colouring is too overpowering. but they'll still pay for the brand.

the rest) softies KongWee / Logicdroid uses logic, they'll be able to answer your qn.

5) if you're using mac + logic, you would be using somewhere along the brands of M-Audio in case you do plan to jumpship over to ProTools M Powered.

gd luck!

Mbox Mini can be used in Logic Express. But careful of driver and OS updates, do what they say on the support sites. It common to use Logic for music arrangement and Protools for recording.

About where you can buy it, you can try contacting IMS MAHAJAK PRO AUDIO http://www.imsproaudio.com/
It is located opposite Republic Poly.

It might be a problem because I've been looking around and I hardly find retailers selling digidesign products nowdays.
One of the reason they gave me was "outdated", "replaced by M-Audio"..
