Marshall or Hughes & Kettner

Hi all, Mesa has replied me. They cant sell direct. Too bad for me & you guys who wants a boogie amp.

rackenstein: your recto 50w, 2 ch?

I believe nobody in the right mind would pay that kind of $$$ to purchase Boogie amps. Unless you're filthy rich or your father is filthy rich.

I've found a way to get Mesa amps in.... PLS TELL ME WHETHER U WANT IT ASAP.... I'll be ordering on Friday.... All the heads are 110V as they will be ordered directly from Mesa Boogie, don't ask me why this guy can get it from them because I don't know....

Single rectifier
US$1699 x 1.4 (assuming my credit card company
> charge me on 1.4 xrate) +
> SG$240 (+/- $40 incase of fuel sur-charge) + 7% GST

> SG$2782.10.

Dual rectifier

Same as charges as the single rectifier just that the head will cost US$2199

The stuff will arrive next week..... Cheers!

Mine is the early 2 channel Dual rectifier
It comes with the black diamond plate front and chrome chassis
You can actually run the DR for 50 watt operation by pulling 2 powertubes

Whats worng with the H&K Malaysian dealer?

Rackenstein: Would you buy a Triamp at SGD$9500?

If its ordered directly from mesa, it should be 220-240v. But if this "guy" is able to ship it here & hes from USA, then it wil be 120v. Not worth it because of the voltage issue.

So if its a Dual Rectifier, it will be approx SGD$3611.30

Did you tell them Bentley Music has NO retail outlet in SG and they are in KL which is easilt 400km away and in another country?

$1699 for a Single recto???

If you are super serious for a H&K,contact H&K direct, buy from Germany online stores. Those stores will exclude their tax.Or buy from forums or ebay which is risky.

Did you ask the Malaysian dealer,if we need to pay the Malaysian tax?Is there any tax in Malaysia?
why would we need to contribute to their economy?

Nope. i didnt ask whethere theres tax or not. The best part is they don ship to SG. THey will 'ship' to JB to your relatives or friends home (If you have) then you collect from there.

Actually if you guys are really bent on getting a high gain amp but not willing part an insane amount of money for it AND if you don't mind used gear, you can try the used amp section of various forums like HC, UG, grailtone, VHTusers etc. There're one whole slew of amps which are pretty reasonably priced. Shipping nowadays are pretty reliable with couriers such as Fedex or UPS. I just recieved a VHT deliverance a couple of days ago through Fedex. No problem.

Well... Just make a trip to Sim Lim Tower or some electronic hardware stores and get yourself a AC converter/transformer which steps down the local voltage to 110V. But make sure you know the power consumption of your amp before you get one so as to get a compatible converter.

U can try the DSL401 combo. Its 1x12 speaker, 40W and small in size. Its going for less than $1500 if i can remember correctly.

i was the first few to buy the DSL401 when it debuted- $880 back then... darn inflation

Does the DSL401 have a variety of usable tones? Like cleans, to classic rock and then metal..?

I liked the JVM410C also but its like USD2000+++ without shipping.. And too loud for my house (100W).
Wowza.

the DSL401 has one of the best clean tones this side of Fender, it'd do blues crunch fine. the inherent drive has a fuzz-quality to it & it won't do metal convincingly- it's sounds intense, no doubt, but could have been better for metal.
