MARCUS MILLER , VICTOR WOOTEN and STANLEY CLARK COMING TO TOWN !!

I met Victor after the gig while he was having supper. What a nice guy to share his opinion on playing! HE SHOOK MY HAND TWICE! I'm in heaven...

Only regret I have is that I didn't bring anything for them to sign!! Regret of the year man..

I feel the same:(. Should had listened to my dad when he said "No need bring bass ah?" My fault for not wanting to kill my shoulders, I'm gonna hate myself for a long long time.

One of the best gigs EVER!!! 3 bass gods in one room! Talk about groove! Victor Wooten solo with his delay was super cool! Stanley had great musicality and speed, almost thought I wouldn't get to hear School Days too! Marcus Miller's got drop dead slap tone! Props to the wicked drummer, quite a task to support such awesomeness! Loved the keyboardist solo too pretty stuff!

Pity the CD was sold out so fast! But i got a poster and Victor Wooten's Book signed!!!

side note: Victor Wooten has enormous hands and fingers like a sausages!

We talked about the music camp we had in June and the next one this December. He said,'Din (the organizer) did the right thing by having it here in Asia and who knows i might be here after the next one.' WWWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! Keep your fingers crossed guys! So any more sign-ups for the music camp? Just email to me at bassinc_2000@yahoo.com for the forms and details. For those who still not in the know of the music camp, check the thread here : Rhythm and Groove Music Camp: Post Mortem

Back to the woodshed, guys

For two hours from front row I did not believe what went on right in front of my ears and eyes. Even for non-bass players it must have been incredible. It was all there: extremely talented musicians, explosive grooves, baddest solos, incredible technique on display.

Highlight? Difficult to choose but Stan the Man's acoustic solo was beyond beyond. Easier to understand why so many of the big names hold him in such high regards.

Many, many thanks to the organisers. I hope the combined turnout and enthusiasm warrants a repeat!

Most of the pictures were taken when they were play their encore piece "schooldays"

i bumped into stanley clarke and marcus miller in changi airport terminal 1 the following morning. said hello to them and briefly gushed about the gig before rushing to my gate.

Great Pictures!!! Too bad I wasnt there at the gig...lol. Was supporting original Singapore music pieces composed by local musicians and music lovers at Songcraft session at YMS.

Anyway there will be an upcoming talk and her own EP song performance by our own local Singaporean female bassist Wendy Phua on Sat. She's pretty good. Do check her out @ my music blog:
