Since we're on the topic of food origins.. I think naming the dish after a place is quite stupid.
In australia there is this dish called Singapore Fried Noodles, but it doesnt taste anything like Singapore food.
the Hong Kong noodles we eat here does not exist in hong kong.
Katong laksa seems to be everywhere in singapore not just in katong.
California roll sushi roll we eat here is totally non-existent in california
