Im sure some of you have read magazines like kerrrang, rolling stones, metal maniac and other international music. Have you evered wonder why Singapore doesnt have its own local music magz. So far i only know theres like JUNK which is mostly about the regional (including spore as well) music scene.

Are there any other magazines for the local music scene that i dont know off. Or if there isnt any other, do you think its good if we do have magazines promoting the local music scene.

honestly i would like to have singapore's own version of guitar player. Interviews with good guitarist asking them about thier techniques of playing and influences and giving spore a heads up on the next upcoming local "legends"

the thing bout local music magazine is that ultimately, you need some kind backing before you can start one..

yeah...i second your ideas dude...

I kind of wondering the same thing..kinda cool if s'pore could have its own music mag

Real music,Real magazine for Real musicians...

Respect:D

There used to be BigO before it turned into an anti-PAP soapbox. Good stuff. It died in 2001 after 17 years? They did the BigO singles club. Very popular amongst the indie/ alternative kids back then.

Of course, there was us. Shameless self-plugging:

The Aging Youth Archive

Over 40 local and international bands interviewed. We have reviewed their albums and there are gear reviews as well. Have fun.

Even Juice was doing mild coverage here and there for a short while before they shifted to clubbing...

Yeah... I remember BigO...

From a business stand point, it really wont be very profitable. First of all the market is saturated with all these high profile international magazines, unless this new magazine is able to bring something new and interesting/super cheap it'll be very hard to compete with the already established mags. At the same time, there's only a small amount of market here.
