Low-end Takamine VS Maestro!

Hello all, I would like to ask you all if you have tried any of the 2 brands of acoustic guitars above. I am talking about their lower-end line below $300. And I am also looking at Grand Auditorium sizes, so for Maestro, it will leave me with the SA-1 and SA-3. As for Takamine, I believe there is the G series. So would anyone care to share their opinions? I have aonly tried the Maestro guitars and am very fond of them.

As for Takamine, where will I be able to find a store that sells most low-end range of Takamine acoustics? I just want to try them out before making my decision.

Thanks a lot!

takamine can be found at davis guitar..

the 2 guitars that u are comparing.. they are very different.. takamine has that thin crystal clear sound.. when maestro is much more mellow..

personally i prefer takamine.. try the korean made ones.. they are very good.. if u are looking for the low end entry levels one.. the china ones are just as good..
the G series are the korean ones
D series are from china..
one more letter for japan.. which is the really high end ones..

do try both of the 2 brands... they are very close to each other.. at penisular..

Acoustic Simulator is the best...LOL, i'm curious too, which one is better because i too might need an acoustic guitar, either that or an acoustic simulator pedal

You gotta go for the maestro ed-2.

I narrowed to between the EJ and ED. Jumbo VS Dreadnaught (Spelling?). Just go there and try try! They are very friendly and helpful people :)

Yeah man. ED2 is pwanage! I own one myself, but I think WorldWithoutE is looking for a low end guitar (i'm guessing <$300?).

The guitar I am getting is mostly for learning so I think getting a low end value for money one is better for me. Plus, most points here are for Dreadnaught sized. I am looking for Grand Auditorium sized as DN sized is a bit uncomfortable for me. Thanks for the replies so far though!

All the best! We need more acoustic guitar players

By a long shot! Majority of guitarists nowadays play electric only with maybe a little bit of acoustic. Shortage of acoustic guitarists... Besides, I've never heard a more beautiful sounding instrument than an acoustic guitar. :)

Hey Phil, so you were the guy in the shop yesterday? Thanks for giving such good service and advice! I am totally loving my SD-2. It is so much better than my previous one, with it being easier to play and a very full sound. Highly recommended!
