Hi friends, I have a problem with my guitar, in the past whenever i switched between pickups (flicking the switch thingy on ur guitar) i would lose my tone temporarily. What i mean is even though all my distortion settings are constant, once i just switch say from neck pickup to bridge pickup, my tone would go from something that sounds like metal to something that sounds like bluesy it would suddenly sound very weak, its as if the pickups aren't picking up the tone properly. after some playing the tone would come back. Recently it gets really bad, I don't even feel the punch on the tone anymore. I plugged in my other guitar and it doesnt have this problem, thus is suspect its not an amp thing. I suspect its a problem with pickups, can anyone please give me advice on this? thanks

So you're saying the pickups' output varies? Might either be something wrong with the wiring or the pickups themselves. Best is to bring it down for the tech to have a look.

Most likely the selector switch is worn out. Pickups don't get damaged that easily. If the sound is consistently weak it might be the pickups. However if upon shaking the selector switch, there's intermittent changes in volume then it's very likely to be the switch at fault.
