Looking to buy a fender tube amp

ctho...

HRD = Hot Rod Deluxe
DRRI = Deluxe Reverb Reissue

Not to sound offensive, but it would be a good idea to get a little technical. Read up online on other forums and reviews to really get a feel of how other find their amps. Youtube is a good resource. The more educated you are, the better and well informed you will be in making your purchase decision.

Well said souljah....

I will try to read up more before i decide on the one to buy....... :)

You can get 2nd hand here. Japan would be 100v. Not suitable. If you want, you can come my home give it a try.

Paiseh lah bro!

I posted it in the FS Amps section for quite some time!

You want? My luke is for sale also! ;)

Ctho, actually if you've got the budget; Get the THD Univalve! :D

Luke? Nah... I'm not a fan of V necks and active pups... though the white is chick bait... I've got my Silo 20ths... Don't need anything else...:twisted:

I'm very happy with my Laney VC15... The same one benson has... Awesome amp. A bit vintage sounding, so I'll probably look for something that sounds more contemporary... or at lease 6v6... WITH reverb...:mrgreen:

Both the DDRI and the HRD are very different amps altogether... The DDRI is nice, bright, and very crisp. The HRD isn't as crisp, but still bright and boomy. Between the 2, I'd go for the DDRI because of the sheer size and weight. It's easier on the back compared to the HRD... AND apparently, the HRD is prone to failures according to the Fender Forums, while the DDRI is supposed to be a more stable circuitry.

Thanks white strat...

btw guys, if i also have an semi-acoustic, taylor ce series.... can i use it with the amp? Or very strictly i should buy a acoustic amp? i seldom plugged in the tayloy but just another thought.....

The bassman 59 Ri is ex man..... but got alot of good reviews, some even say it is good for acoustic guitars........ What is the street price for a used one?

what u do guys think?

If you've got an acoustic I'm pretty sure it'll sound ok with the amp, but of course it'll sound better with an acoustic amplifier. The reason for this I believe is that the preamp in an electric guitar amp would color the original tone of your acoustic guitar. And from my experience most acoustic amps are solid state to prevent any distortion that would occur on a tube amp.

Bro the amps you've mentioned so far are all mostly non-master volume amps, very vintage in lay out and tone. If you're looking to get some drive and gain, you're going to have to crank them up.

You might want to look for a combo or a head/cab setup, lower wattage with master volume to suit your needs for home use. Or a built in attenuator like the THD Univalve to get good tones at reasonably low volumes.

Preferbably a acoustic amp will be better. if not plug to your hifi or karaoke system........flat the EQ.
