Basic lava = more fluid, flows faster, forms shield volcanoes that have very gentle slopes because they flow faster and further before solidifying

Acid lava = more vicous (i.e. thicker), forms acid lava volcanoes that have very steep slopes because they flow slower and not very far before solidifying.

maybe it's acidic because all the HCL and other kinds of acids thrown down the sink during Chemistry practicals winds up flowing down into the earth's crust and making the magma acidic
