LaSalle SIA... the sad truth.

there ARE ang moh's in lasalle. if your family came here to work and u had to go to school and u wanted to do arts, yup.

lotsa overseas babes.

lotsa local cuties.

to each his own; but to answer your question, YES there are hawties. i'm predicting it's in a higher density than poly.

Out of curiosity, and not trying to aim it at you folks, but is ang-moh used with a negative connotation at all? Or is it just referring to em. Thanks :).

I have a local friend who goes to LaSalle and he seems to be enjoying it...

Come to singapore to study arts? That sounds ironic in a way ....

No way warlord, i'd never say it in a bad way ... Kinda like a singaporean type of brotherly way ...

most of the caucasians and overseas students there are usually there under the performing arts and some in the media faculty. If you have noticed singapore's film industry and indie films is getting some exposure, especially at film festivals, and the recent one in Singapore as well. So yeah. Let's give Singapore some recognition man, for trying to be a city of the Arts in the region and internationally and attracting talents, because without arts, society is nothing.

norwegians americans english swedish africans italians germans indonesians malaysians thais chinese japanese sri langkans singaporeans and many more... they're all there.

STEREOTYPING IS BAD.

hahaha stereotyping is part of society and the structure of it! okay lets not go into detail... it IS bad... =\

"ang-moh": used as a term describing skin colour, not meant to be offensive at all (unlike the derogratory term 'nigger') but since it is a generalization of skin colour, some people may feel that "foreigner" or "european" is more appropriate. singaporeans are lazy la, "ang moh" is easier to say than "foreigner" or "american/european" and "white skinned" is just ironical because... well i think chinese people are whiter! just that we have many tanned chinese so maybe the foreigners got confused.

Why would foreign students wanna study here? Singapore is considered the hub of south east asia and this part of the world has many forms of art that the other parts of the world hasn't seen! When we say that OUR students are under-exposed in the schools, it's because they do not get to experience the foreign world. But foreigners who move here to study will have the knowledge of the region which they came from AS WELL AS singaporean culture and arts! they might even be more respected as an artist when they return to their country since they hold a certificate that show's their experience of an Asian developing country.

OH, i finally read this thread. Crispy told me a while back about it but i haven't had time to read this. Lasalle bad? Let me comment on my government poly stay and lasalle stay.

NP CE vs Lasalle MUSIC

System is bad?

Np i wait like a bitch to sit in a lecture theater and wait for my lecturer to talk shit to me for 1 hour and teach the black board.

Lasalle I wait like a bitch to go to class to learn more music theory and i learnt alot so far.

lasalle win

Lousy Lecturers?

My Grades were slipping and i wasnt really interested, lecturers did nothing. I only had one great lecturer that sat with me almost everday to teach me engineering math.

Lasalle Doing quite ok when i have a problem lecturers are generally FREe and are always there to try to teach us.

It honestly boils down to self motivation and hard work, no use scolding ur swimming floats if u cannot swim. Its there to help u keep afloat only. kinda like your lecturers, their there as floats to help u here and there. At the end of the day if you yourself dont work hard theres no point in complaining. Its not secondary school where everything is laid on a platter for u, so please Grow up.

I can honestly say that lasalle has taken my bass playing to another level and i enjoy playing and jammin with everyone there no matter how bad the rooms are or how shitty the amps are. While jammin in lasalle i met alot of great musicians and i have been given the opportunity to work with some of the best musicians around, from local percussion heros like Ridwan to local jazz cats like malcolm and sean from bluenote jazz bar. I met the guys that started thomson jazz band and tanglin jazz band and i've also been given the opportunity to work with joshua wan and adam shah in the near future. So am i wrong to say that lasalle is good?

IF i had chose to stay in np i can truely say that i wont have the opportunities that i have now and im glad i made the choice to leave and come to lasalle. Please dont talk shit about the school if you don't know anything about it or u have not experienced it to its full potential. If you want to talk more about the school or you would like to jam i'll gladly jam anytime to show you what the school has taught me, i sincerely believe crispyegg will also agree to jam anytime with anyone to show them what lasalle has taught him too. Its a great place and i sincerely believe that it will get better in the future.

Thats enough of my ramblings. Excuse the bad english im writing this at 1243am and im tired as hell now.
