Killswitch problem

my tele's been modded with a killswitch done by a pro from a shop.

but is there anything wrong with the wiring? i set my pedal's distortion to a really high level(hahaha dont make me get started with compression and booster) and whenever i on my killswitch, there would be some kind of feedback sound. sounds similiar when you unplug the cable from the guitar.

currently i set my noise gate higher to prevent that sound, but it kinda affects the sustain of my guitar. haha.

i use the same setting on my les paul and i never got this problem. haha, i turn one of my pup's vols to 0 and then mess with the toggle switch.

a kill switch is nothing, nothing, but a switch, wired as "on/off" switch. It is not supposed to cause any feedback or sound at all! Its wiring is nothing, really nothing to affect the sound at all. Let alone caused feedback(if its really feedback and not crackling sound)

Bring your insturment to some other geetar tech to check. If necessary, bring the same pedals, cables and try infront of the tech to show them the problem.

There is really no need and no logic to use a noise supressor on a killswitch.

.... use a noise supressor on a killswitch.

That might actually result in total sonic annihilation.

:D

shokakukai, if you're adventurous - you can google up how a kill switch should be wired, then just open up to take a look. Don't break anything lah. The kill switch wiring is very easy and there's really only 1 right way to do it.

This is how I install my killswitch

i got mine wired to the volume knob(on position) and the off position to the jack i think. im not too sure if its the ground wire or the hot wire but its covered in grey. i'll post pics soon. my comp's usb port got a prob :/

do you have any probs with urs? like any sound when you engage your killswitch and with excessive gain? hahaha

I do not have any problem with it at high gain. The killswitch should not cause feedback. A killswitch is a normally open switch, push to close the circuit. Just like an on/off switch.
