Juz got my epiphone les paul

man i love the vintage sunburst one for the les paul standard just that the pickups are slightly weaker compared to the plus series......std uses epiphone ones and std uses gibson ones if i'm not mistaken...but the tobacco burst for the classic series is nice too......but the fretboard's finishing is horrible.....and the pickups are average.....but it seems to be heavier than the other les paul standards.....due to the african mahogany wood i think......

I AGREE WITH U MAN! i was about to say the finish on the fingerboard is kinda bad! can see quite a number of the white stuff? i wonder izzit design in this way? my other guitar dun have those white grains stuff. its due to the finishing, not the dryness of rosewood kind of white grain. cos yeseterday nite cant see properly got a clearly look now

haha i bought from davis guitar shop at penisular plaza. they gave a free hardcase! yeah!! haha mayb u can buy ur hardcase there
hey i ever tried asking them to sell me one, but they didn't want to...ouch...

i don't think it's designed this way......i don't see the white grains very frequently on gibson les pauls......the ebony wood for epiphone's les pauls are quite bad especially those that are made in china......the korea one still seems to be ok....it'll start to get worse later on if it's not taken care of.....i tried using
lemon oil on it once.....seemed to help slightly......but sustain wise it's even better than my fender usa strat.....

yeah for mine is the cutting, cos i also dunno how to say. its not the whitest grain caused by over dryness but the cutting lol. yeah the sustain is great. over all i think still worth it. btw izzit hard to change the pickups and the 3 way selector on lp? nvr open a lp before, only did to my strato before. cos for strato i can see the writing system after removing my pickguard

haha i have no idea......i never did dare to meddle with my fender strat....didn't want it to get damaged cause my mum isn't a fan of maintence costs for my guitars........so for the les paul i wouldn't know.....but i find open coils much nicer on les pauls and it achieves a slightly higher output......i know a lot of people like to lot their les pauls with alnico pro 2 like what slash does......

hmm tried out the sound, not really impressing, infact kinda dissapointed played gnr "dont cry", can really hear the hell difference between a strato copy and lp copy

Hmm... what amp are you using. If it's a low cost practise amp, you probably cannot hear much difference, as the amp is incapable. A lot of time, guitarist neglect the fact that a good amp could be the answer to their progress. You cannot differenciate tone sound well if your amp lacks defination.

You should be able to tell between a single coil strat pu, a open coil humbucker pu & a covered lespaul style pu. Listen carefully using the clean channel.

actually i forget to put a pull stop over my sentance making it confusing ahha. It actually, im abit dissapointed with the sound. Played gnr "dont cry" using both guitars, can really hear the difference :D but the sound, wasnt really expecting tat, maybe cos i was reading reviews from musicanfriends and music123. thier reviews dun seems to be very reliable

That amp should do a fair job, up to a certain degree. I guess you may need to work harder to train your ears, and relate it to your playing styles.

Ear training is another neglected area of learning.

If you wanna change pickupstry the Duncan 59' model. It adds the very classic les paul sound. If you want more modern stuff get the Alnico II Pro like oi did.

how much is the alnico II pro? it come with one or two pickup? where did u get them from? hehe, izzit hard to change the lp pickup? i know how to change on strato but not too sure about lp

1 alnico pro 2 humbucker is $125 at davis....if i'm not mistaken but it sells out very fast......and i think even yamaha and davis doesn't have anymore cause normally people put reservations before the stock comes in.....

i think i might get sph90-1 phat cat. most likly gettin from gain10, lazy to move my ass off my bed to penisular

havent had any problems so far, nice fat tone it gives. dunno made in where though... :?

oh my dear.........wtf??? that's the discontinued slash signature series by epiphone.........there's only a few models in the world......where did you get it and how much was it??? the tone is damn good i heard......sounds like the early guns n roses days.....just that the snake logo is a sticker compared to gibson's which is painted......

that rare??! umm..i got it from some one whom i dont know, my sister's friend. I reckon it must be quite old, though there are no physical damages to it. yea, i just noticed that there is a sign "limited edition" at the back of the guitar head. I paid $1000 for it...i think the logo is printed, and then glossed over, so u cant feel it, don't really look like a sticker to me though.. :? sheet...u are making me feel like i have mistreated it...i dont put it in its case at all, just leave it lying against the wall all the time... wanted to buy a hard case but davis wouldnt sell me one.

hahaha........damn man if i knew where was selling it i would have bought it.....i'm a big slash fan.....it's a very old model i think at least 1990 around that time was this model released.....it was originally designed by slash and made by gibson before epiphone decided to release a cheaper version but i donno why they stopped.....only 150 models released in the world i think i can't remember but i know it's damn rare....... :D :D :D .........but the condition still looks fine to me.....you lucky bastard.....

lol!! im a huge slash fan too! thats why i bought it even though i couldnt afford it, and without consideration, still owe my mum money for that...just didnt know its so rare. its in perfect condition, not a scratch or chip...dang dang dang...seriously...u are getting me worried that one of these days im gonna jump around like a monkey in the studio and mosh with my fat vocalist(which we do every session) and get it damaged...maybe its time to use my other guitar instead and let this lie around as a white elephant...
