Point of this thread being? You want a sub $300 guitar? You have a guitar and want to spend $300 to modify it? You need to be specific and provide more detail. Singlecut? Doublecut? Strat style? Super strat style? 22 fretter? 24 fretter? Floyd? T.O.M?

If you are looking for a guitar, please.. do yourself a favour and start in the guitar review section. You can always check out subversion's blog which has tons of gear review many covering the sub $300 budget.

If you have $300 for modding, I am sure a quick search through the forum will easily yield you your intended results.

Just save up more, man. $300 is not enough for a decent dual-humbucker guitar. Save up $1,000 and get an Epiphone Les Paul. Or a PRS guitar. Good luck.

it's 300. the pickups are not bad too. made up of basswood.

And it's a decent guitar just that the finishing isn't too good. I think it should worth more than 300.

in fact all guitar can play metal,

rather i would suggest you invest the remaining on good teacher,

this way. no matter which guitar you use,
you will sound like an excellent player

I think you should spend them on Spartans. I heard they are selling at $1 each.

Save up to around $400-500 and get a decent guitar, J&D serves me well for the past 4 years, can cover metal and rock too. Then there's LTD and Ibanez, which are good for the price tags too.
