Just wonder which Is The First Jamming Studio in Singapore?
It opened in which year ,where is it located and own by who?

Piang..

That's a very difficult question to answer man..

Maybe the first was set up under a tree when the first Chinese immigrants came probably?

Got er hu and pi pa and cymbals and chinese drums for rent maybe.

Hahahahaha!!

Anyway, the early phases of my jamming days were spent in places like Viva (Bt Panjang), Seng Chai Jurong East, Boon (Potong Pasir, if I am not wrong) and then later Aljunied MRT that one, got one studio in Ginza Plaza, then one near Joo Chiat Complex.

Now, frequenting L Cube. Before that was Tiet Studios.

wah... viva is the shophouse outside MINDEF right?? eeyur!!

one more eeyur place is Groovemaker!! right smack in desker road.

hmm from my experience there was Razzi M studio jalan tukang in the 80`s, then some studios at penisula called ziz zag same era..

Viva was much ealier located at upper bt timah flatted factory also in the 80`s..offcourse there are other like the one located at thomson,West cost etc..

that u have to wait for others to chip in.. :)

Seng chai and wee lee used to be along the old Chua Chu Kang Rd, near to Jalan Bungar (Rd now non existent). Where Wee Lee was, right now its the Army Logs Unit and opposite the Home Team academy was where Seng Chai was. Theres another one at Hong Leong Garden near West Coast. All of this was way back in the late 70's and early 80's before they shifted to their current studios. How do I know? Used to live in that area during my childhood days

groovemakers was quite a old jamming studio.it was somewhere near serangoon rd.viva was another old studio located at bukit timah.both not around anymore.

My first jamming experience: 1993 at Tornados at Jurong West. hehe I miss that place!!

My Band used to jam at Tornado in the early 90s as well.. hahahaha.. So many memories.. my drummer foot cramp, my finger cramp.. fighting in the studio...hahaha macham rawkstar last time..

My first jam session was at Groovemaker back in 1977, where they have fenders guitars and bass and fender bassman amps, also PE studio on the 2nd floor, below was a motor repair shop at the old demonlished 2 storey shophouse where centrepoint is now. There was also a house at Macperson area where they convert 1 room to be a studio. these were the few places I used to jam then.
