Just wonder which Is The First Jamming Studio?

Yeah, his name is Fauzi. Jammed there quite a number of times... :)

I remembered i bought a Boss SD-2 (Dual Overdrive) from him. And he's not sure if the pedal is able to switch between Crunch and Solo mode using an external footswitch. Hahahahahhha... Nice guy btw... :)

Ohhh... remembered he worked in Swee Lee BB for a while. And he managed to grab a pick thrown by Steve Vai (when he performed in Hard Rock Cafe) which landed on the upper floor right at his leg!!! Lucky bugger!!! ;)

Wow, Groovemaker 1977 eh? My first jam experience was at Groovemaker back in '87 but at that time it was in New World (now extinct lah)...
then it shifted to King George Ave, i still remembered the kind apek & his big dog, the barking sometimes became background sound effect, hehe...
Then get to know Ah Boon when he's tending Seng Chai at Casuarina Rd...good ol'days

Thanks For All Your Reply.

After much checking. I think Groove maker is still the oldest jamming studio is
Singapore. Their address was (New Wold Amusement Park Jalan Besar,Singapore 0820.)
The Owner name was Ah Yang. My uncle used to know him but too bad the number on the
name card is no longer in use......

... There was also a house at Macperson area where they convert 1 room to be a studio. these were the few places I used to jam then.

Was that house a 2 level house along Siang Kuang Ave near a CC? I stayed right next door until my family shifted in 1989! I remember trying to fall asleep when I was in primary school circa 82, and I could hear the bass guitar next door pumping out 'Smoke on the water'. Although back then I didn't know what song that was, just that riff.

Funny I registered here back in 2006 but this is my 1st post kekeke.
Hi, I remember the dayz when Jamming in Seng Chai at Old Chua Chu Kang Road back in 1982, they use to have All Tube Marshall Head with 4x12 Slant Cabs, than they switch to Roland when they shifted at the opposite of Old Ahmad Ibrahim School before opening Ah Boon at Jurong. Those are the dayz when Jamming Studios Equipment are the best, not like now a China made Amp lol. I remembered Tornado I think they are opposite of Seng Chai back in Old CCK Road. The Old Razzi M Studio Life Records use to have Classic VOX Amp.

Hi bro Zeppellin,

Tornado was in Jurong West Blk 504 or 505 something, theres a 7-11 convenience store nearby. They were there less than a year and closed down due to some miscomm with HDB rules n regulations. (HDB thought theirs was a music school like cristofori or suzuki like that but boy were the residents in for a surprise hehehe) Good ol' HDB gave them the ultimatum, improve the sound acoustics (Raise platform lah to reduce the noize - additional $$$$$) or out you go....well...that one really nailed the coffin. If im not wrong tornado was back in the early 90s....93 or 94. Cant really recall lah

The studio opposite Seng Chai at old ChUa Chu Kang Rd (Yes the spelling was ChUa Chu Kang and NOT ChOa Chu Kang) was Teck Lee. Near Jln Bungar (Rd now non-existent, where it sits is now the army logs base) A very friendly guy indeed(Saw a few good bands jamming at Teck Lee. Speedway, yardbirds, graveyard (Lana was on bass - wheres that guy anyway hehehe), kingdom in rock etc... the owner definitely has better P.R than Seng Chai but his studio closed down after a fire broke out. Cause of fire? Dunno. Accidental maybe. It occurred back in the early 80s. Now he's at Sembawang if Im not wrong. Just to share

Sorry my mistake, yeah i remember now , its Teck Lee, thks for refreshing my memory, kekekeke, Tornado is the Studio that Fauzi the drummer taking care, if I'm not wrong Fauzi was with the band F/X making a recording back than. If I'm not wrong.

Yeah man..Tornado Music Studio

A good place to Jam after SengChai, a place where lots of aspiring Musicians Jam, collaborate and hang-out and make more friends.... Sadly, Dishonesty destroyed the place...
