Just got my Ibanez Valbee

I also had an experience with this amp & can share. BTW, that was MINE experience & U may get better one.

valbee was my very first amp. i bought it after hearing lots abt “warm sound” of tube amp. clean channel was ok but after i put this amp side by side with fender twin reverb (full tube 100watts amp) i started hating valbee :)

I’ll try to explain the reason why: when you strum any chord on clean channel of fender amp you hear every string in that chord. valbee amp, in the same situation, will produce only blending sound which is lack of transparency and kinda boomy. Also, my first effect pedal was boss metal zone and when i run that pedal though my valbee it produced a horrible, mosquito like, trebly & thin sound. i was so disappointed that sold both: my amp and mt-2 pedal :)

i had one particular problem with my valbee that time. my amp picked up cetrain frequency from my house fluorescent lighting. At night, when I switched light on, amp produced loud background humming noise.

my verdict: valbee is little bedroom amp and its ok until u listen to the better amplifier. after trying better amp you will quickly sell valbee and smile

I will not buy this amp again. If it were stolen I would hope that thief had fluorescent lighting in his bedroom ;)

oh yes another reason was due to the stupid hum and the buzz it had due to flourescent lighting. it got too loud with my overdrives, not distortions! and on clean it still hummed.

hi man..
ibanez valbee is a single ended tube amp.. yeah its gonna act axcatly the way u discribe it.. but single ended amp;fender champ, valbee , got lots ot harmonics compare to push pull amp.. 15 watter and above.. push pull tends to cancel the hum..
but valbee type of amp u can use for hifi--plug it into back of your pc for example.. (but u got to have converter, guitar cable to pc audio in) and you'll amaze to how it sound....:D
