Japan Les Paul Appreciation thread

Slash is another story.. Many guitarist play high gain pickup reason is that they drive easier.. but SLASH have MARSHALL.. lol =.= (anw i am not a high gain player, i am a low gain guy)

Slash has marshall similarly to 1000 other guitarists out there. So many are marshall users but not all rely on high output pickups to coordinate with gain. Some do so for a more modern tone etc. Take active pickups for example. People do not use EMGs just because they work well with high gain purely. Thats not the only reason. There are other factors such as EMGs being noiseless.

So many people use marshalls, Randy Rhoads, Van Halen, John 5, Slash, Doug Aldrich, Ritchie Blackmore and not many of them used very high output pickups. They relied on the amps to drive their gain.

I'm out of this thread.

Haha.. is okay to compare gibson with epi with "JAPAN MADE LP COPIES" (: I had try using an Epi 100 and swap out the pickup.. and it sound great with SD pickups but the playability are quite horrible.. action so damm high.. fret buzz all over even after setting up.. I mean.. Japan made lp are such value for money.. I shall do a review one day.. sad to say the cosmetic condition of my greco lp is pretty wrack..

Hmm, i disagree TOTALLY with your complaint on Epiphone.
If the action is high, lower the action. If it's too low til it causes a fret buzz, then raise it slightly.
If you are unfamiliar with setting up a guitar, send it to a tech. Not comfortable with a regular tech? You can always send it to Malcolm Tan.
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Junior, routed the cavity and changed the pickup to a P-90, it plays a dream now. Regular setup, nothing special.

yup that's course.. its becuz of the pickup output i guess (:

As bro superpotato_30 said, pickup output doesn't determine everything. It matters what tone you want. High output doesn't equal to high gain.

It seems you have an attitude.. wtf..

Ironically it seems that you are extremely stubborn refusing to listen to actual facts that others whom know more and can actually be bothered to share. Everything i have listed in my posts are freaking facts if you do your research and use ur brains more you will realise that. I have not insulted you in anyway prior to my last post. Yet you say that i have an attitude? Who the hell thinks that SG = suited for higher gain. Before you start condemning my attitude go look at yourself in the mirror.

Its kids like you whom think the world of themselves that pissed so many older members off and left never coming back. When they try to make a point they are regarded as proud and hao lian. Dramatic irony. really.
If you are not open to the opinions of others crawl back under your rock and stfu. Create an opinion after you have clear understanding of what are the facts and what are not. I can't believe i actually took my time to entertain you. If you want to affirm your knowledge is right whats the point of opening a thread to discuss it. Lets just close it. Save some energy typing and looking at the screen

Thanks for wasting my time.

having an attitude is totally ok, as long as knowing some knowledge of what is being said. The sad part is when not knowing much but yet wanting to talk...

The moment when mouth open, prolly just in time to exposed whats lacking internally...

Hehe, play the geetar more and less geetar talk...
