is pickup height part of the equation??

i've got 2 hum cancelling SCs in my neck and mid position. the mid being adjusted to a lower height than the neck. but i realised now my neck has more hum than my mid when the gain is maxed out.

anyone knows if pickup height plays a part in the hum??

additional info:
area 58 neck (higher)
virtual vintage blues mid (lower)
sg15 amp
i know hum will come in even when i use humbuckers with the gain maxed out, but how come one has more hum than another??

why dont u adjust the pickup height to see if it changes anything hum wise..

but wait, area 58 in the neck? thats a noiseless single coil designed to get rid of single coil 60 cycle hum. technically, its meant to have no hum at all. i have the exact same pickup in my neck and its dead quite.

reduce ur gain lah.. hahaha

oh i think i might know why. ur amp aint grounded is it

grounding in the house it self plays an important role....
coz its affecting the amp too ... esp the hum/noise

if u play it at full gain setting ... all PUs of course have hums
reduce the gain
or use noise suppressor pedal

ok i think its something to do with the amp not being grounded properly, cos once i put it through distortion pedal its completely silent even under max gain. thanks guys :)
