Hi all,

I wonder if this is true. I remembers someone told me that being M.I.A is a courtesy way of showing rejection.

Well, being responsible adults, i think there should be an explanation behind certain happenings..

so, what do u guys think?

Rubbish. Going M.I.A. is a disrespectful and cowardly way of showing non-commitment and irresponsibility.

How is wasting someone's travelling time and cost more courteous than telling them upfront?

Sometimes people go M.I.A because they have crappy band members, or people just don't understand the word "no", or something of the like. If a girl I was after just suddenly stopped replying all messages, then yes, she's probably an idiot, but if I keep asking her out for 10 times in a row while getting the answer "no, not interested" but still do it, then maybe I DESERVE to be M.I.A'ed upon.

lol dude fallen out of love? anyway its not courteous to just disappear like that.always let the other party know that either your not interested in the offer or you've found another buyer.its always good to let them know.

yeah,

that is my point. letting the other party know that they are not interested. n not juz *poof* ~gone~

some twist to this
1)mia cant be 2 places at the same time ..haha ..
u know what i mean :) some ppl simply agree to certain things but ..actually they cant make it ...and has no courage/guts to explain later on ..
2) mia (made in america) :) only for musical instruments

at first say they interested. then...... a few days MIA -.-

well well ....
these also apply to ppl who say that they wana jam. after telling them song list, they say they interested. But MIA on the day of the jam and screw things up!!! :???:

Just curious, but why is M.I.A. always used for people who don't turn up? Doesn't M.I.A. refer to someone who was killed in battle, or went missing in battle? I think A.W.O.L. would be more accurate leh.

Two years back when I put together a softies project band for powerjam - someone here wanted to join. After much discussions etc - on the day MIA -never even bothered to call or sms or anything - until I repeated smsed the person then he / she replied - dowan take part.

Simlpy downright RUDE

wah fgl...
at least that bugger got reply after multiple smses ...

mine juz *poof* siam like ninja ... without trace !!!

say wan jam, very interested ... but after that M.I.A !!!!!
ALIEN ABDUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

funny thing is, he kenot reply my smses... but he got time to play games on facebook ...
pretty interesting eh?!

agreeee!!! i really hate it too.
i kena twice sia for my distortion and my wah pedal.
at first say they interested. then...... a few days MIA -.-

Play safe man, ask them to PM you if they are interested to deal for the pedal next time, instead of SMS.
If they went MIA or double-bubble, remember their nicks and spread it around to warn others. you gotta spread the love :D

sometime buyers no enough cash
i still let them have it then pay later
most of them very rude coz they didnt mia

but occasionally some do go mia
so these are the most courteous ppl on earth
please dont treat one's kindness for one's weakness
