Interview with an ambient musician

60 views and not a single reply. Seems that the musicians here like soccer more than music.

C'mon... don't be so cold.

cool chill out music. something that can loop forever and you wont notice that it is looping.

but somehow, for sound artist to stand out, they must have a unique sound and it is something that sound designers are trying so hard to create.

hee..hee.. dont know if you get what i mean.

it is like the first person who sampled cat's meow and made them into singing cats, it is refreshing. but when others start sampling dogs, cows, babies... then it become quite blend already.

Nice dreamy and spacey ambient music there. I'd listen to them when I'm having a couple of drinks with friends :D

isn't this the case for all types of music? wouldn't want a rehash of a 1970s band over and over and over again

Bro Aen bro, the peeps here aer more into metal and emo punk. I'd recommend you another forum where the peeps are more into this kinda stuff.

The stuff sounds great. Really "internet-surfing" music.

Always good to know that you can cari makan from your music.

Nice, thanks for the link.

Ambient music, seeking to stand out. Kinda contradictory in an interesting way.

AgingYouth, i think it is good that SOFT have every style of music. this way, we learn and grow.

glissceule, yes, that is why i suggest the abovementioned artist to find his wining sound. it is amazing coz he is a self taught musician. but because of his production skill, the tracks are very consumable.

@ AgingYouth
Not a good idea to be chasing me away  I think for Singapore to progress further in music, people must open up and get out of their comfort zone and start doing what's different and original.

@ Phil
Keith is a friend of mine and I sort of like his ambient music so I featured him on my blog. He didn't asked for it.

@ gsonique
I'm sure it does. Constipation is sometimes attributed to anxiety and being calm helps.

@soft
I agree. To me, good ambience must be ambient. Tha is it creates the mood subconsciously without getting in the way. Forevery musician, finding his/her unique sound is a personal journey and a long undertaking. I think Keith have started to find his.

Nice interview Aen. It's certainly a very marketable genre. It's not just the creation of the music, which isn't extremely difficult. Ambience music is relatively simple to create. The marketing of it is more difficult. And I'm glad to see that Keith did really well.
