i think Stars idea is pretty good...we start by doing small slots...i think the brit company i been lookin at might have flexible schemes, can negotiate wif them..

hmm.. been thinking about something ...
apple ipods have this software that allows you to conduct podcasts right ? just hook up the ipod to a com with net connection and you can happily start streaming music.
hmmz , maybe can approach creative see if they have something up their sleeve ? c if can tie up with them to release and promote local music ? creative has a online music store like itunes where u can pay per song download. sadly underutilised though.

besides discussing about how soft will bet setting up this internet radio thing. Dun u people feel that we need to publicise it? How we gonna get poeple to listen rather than guess how many will. Currently, there are like 5k members. however, not all are active members like people discussing it here.
suggestion:
1. getting poly students to help out so that u can advertise to them. Those student's whose module is closely related to this kinda radio thing.
2. Streaming original songs of the sch of rock conestant and asking them to help advertise for the internet radio?
3. Work with heartrock to record live shows and using their gig as a medium to reach out to all other people?
not sure if these suggestions will work or not, but i strongly believe that publicity is essential to the success of the internet radio.

Also, there must be some other kind of programming.
Not just local music programmes. Maybe some information/talkshow type programmes from willing to be volunteer-DJs? Or else, people will just stick to their mp3 players, no?

Very possibly pre-recorded or live interviews with local bands. Very good idea.
Airing recordings of live gigs too, good idea there Mr_X!

U can set up a space to recruit crews for ur online station, maybe u ccan do outdoors in SG too ..

5. stars ( technical volunteer) got 3 coms to spare. anyone willing to supply a high speed connection ? i volunteer my mac (g3 ancient but still working and useful) to be streaming server or sumthing , not a problem at all , dont really use it.

suggestions on how we like the internet radio to be ah! haiyah, haiz, earlier say so lah. :roll: make me feel so small, all technical experts and then talk about streaming and data transfer and what nots, all these make me pengsan straight away. :smt017
also, if just play band sounds, then only band people experts mah! i had thought better let the professionals do justice to the meeting!
