this sadowsky gig bag seems like a good clone of the incase bags.

what do you guys think?

Is this available in Singapore?

To my knowledge, the closest to our shores is Japan. Other than that you can order them direct from Sadowsky NYC. I tried emailing Incase but they never got back to me despite repeated mails. The portabag is on sale on numerous Japanese online music stores.

Personally, I would just go for the Incase bag if you can afford it. More features than the Portabag.

The prices for both bags aren't that far apart either.

yea, saw on ishibashi. might get one since im getting something there.

hmm truth to that, i realised the incase isnt really much more considering that price range.

do you own one?

No I don't own one, but for the longest time I contemplated getting one.

But there's really no point, I'm no pro musician running around town for sessions or gigs all the time. A reasonably good case serves my purpose as it is. And my pedals go in a pedalboard. :)

I currently use a Levys "semi hardcase" gig bag I bought at Davis for my Strat. And a normal Ritter bag for my Luke.

I too wanted to ship one in from Japan, but I believe due to the dimensions of the bag, shipping might cost as much as the shipping for a guitar itself. 8O

Alternatively...buy a john mayer strat, Incase bag is a standard feature with them :D

I bought a very nice semi-hardcase from Ishibashi on MO with Malcolm.

Can't rem the brand but it was Tribal something.

Anyway, $150 with shipping and I would throw it around with my guitar in it. Good stuff.

I got my Incase off eBay. It's definitely cheaper that way. I emailed incase, and they quoted me 200 for shipping alone!! That's in USD mind you. The guy I got it from charged me usd25, and shipped it by ground shipping. Took abt 2 months, but hey it's so much cheaper that I didn't mind.

One thing abt the incase: it's bloody heavy, and more to the bulky side. But, I trust nothing's gonna happen to my guitar when it's in that bag :D

Mine's the John Mayer one btw. Not much difference btwn that one and the normal incase.

hey markjohn, it's rugged, but do u think a guitar kept in it can take a plane ride from the usa to s'pore?

sideline: since a couple of ppl mentioned JM strats...is there anyway to get a JM strat in Singapore besides Swee Lee?

Yes, I believe it can.

Oh and regarding that Sadowsky gigbag, I just read somewhere that it's made by Incase for Sadowsky, albeit slightly different from the Incase slimbag. So it's not really a clone, just a rebrand I guess.

i am on the verge of ordering a bass from ishibashi, will the shipping cost alot more if i order the bag along with it?

and i've seen both the tribalmusic and sadowsky bags on ishibashi, the sadowsky costs alot more than the TM, around 13000 yen (SGD160+) more. while i need a bag, i'm finding it hard to justify the massive difference in price

oh yes, ive been gasing for the incase for quite awhile now. my dream guitar is a jm strat so im waiting til i get my jm strat.
