It was the person in charge that i had a problem with..
The story is this, i talked to IG(For his sake, i don't mention his name, so i label IG), way before and ask if my cds could be produced in time for my gig, which i wanted to sell the cds. He said no problems. I paid a 50% deposit. A week before the gig, i keep smsing or calling, asking how the progress is, but no response and he just totally ignored me. Until i started threatening for a refund, then he said he cannot finish the production yet, when i asked him whether i can pick up 3 days before the gig.
The day before the gig was my soundcheck, and i told him i can't be going to the shop as i was soundchecking, i told him to meet me at the gig, which was very near his shop, and he said no problem. On that day itself, he didn't turn up. I called again, and he told me he would pass to me on the gig itself. Moreover, he said it was all done. This had really made me start to panic. The night before the gig, i went over to the shop. His staff asked me to wait 1 hr for him to pack the cds. 1 hr later, i came back, and it was not packed, only some were packed. Asked me to come back in another hr, it was already 2am. Again another hr, only 10 more cds were added. I was already very tired, next day was my gig, i told them that. And they said it was my problem. I told them their boss had mentioned that the cds were already ready, and why in 1 hr only 10 cds were added. They told me the guy puasa, ask me to forgive him, and they told me they had to cut the cd sleeves one by one... (What!! It's not even ready??). They even said some other bands don't want to pay as they want the remainder amount. I was not pleased with their service, how can i pay the remainder amount when the cds are not even ready. And even if other bands don't pay, what has it to do with me!
Then they promised me on the day of the gig they will send over the cds. And so they did on the day itself, and we had an argument, with IG around of cos! In fact, they keep threatening to take back the cds if i don't pay the remaining amount, which i was hesistant to pay the remaining, not becos i have no $$, but becos the service has already been so bad!!
I got the cds, and when i check thru them, i found the printing to be bad, the words were not clear, the ink could be peeled off (those on the cd), and around the edges, it's not smooth and straight, with ink smudges coming out. Moreover, the ink had bubbles on it. Totally bad job, very unprofessional!
Later part, i receive complaints from people who bought that the cds were not burnt, no songs inside. Other complaints were the tracks are skipping, obviously cause by them burning at fast speed, instead of slow. My graphic designer friend mentioned that the words were blur becos the printing shop suppose to type over the fonts to add an extra layer to make the words clear, which they didn't do.
I would say, this is the worst service i ever gotten from a printing shop.
And last but not least, there wasn't even any apology from IG at all.. and he can tell me I'm testing his patience.
