If you had 1/1.5k....

YES! I'm really interested in getting the 50's strat. According to subversion, Swee Lee may not be bringing them in though. Perhaps if we can gather critical mass, we could get Brendon of bluegrasswoods to bring them in for us after the payment of a deposit?

the 50s and 60s strat are currently available in the bras basah outlet.50s in tan cream and 60s in sonic blue.

and no,i dont work for them.8)

I believe thats the Mexican Classic Series. The Squier Classic Vibe 50's and 60s strats only come in sunburst :)

i've seen that no one pointed out about the tokai.
a tokai costing 2.8K??? i mean for that price you could get a first hand gibson and you might have left overs. O.O i didn't know tokais were worth that much.

imo, get a mid ranged les paul and a mid ranged strat.
i mean, as a owner of les pauls. i lovelovelovelovelove the fat tone. but there are times when i just wanna strum with twang or pluck with twang. of course a paul would have lovely, and i mean lovely cleans which includes. it just lacks that TWANG which a strat has.
on the other hand, a strat doesn't take distortion that well IMO as compared to a humbucker. but the twang compensates for it.
its either give or take, so why not have the best of both worlds?
imo a midranged guitar won't differ that much from a high end, its just build wise.

i believe you could get decent pauls or strats at the buy/sell section. seen many strats and i just want to grab one. i need money. :(

Ya i was considering that actually. I noticed a second hand strat for 750 that i just might go for. Does any know anying about the Rally LPs? If they are really comparable to Epiphones then i just might get that as well.

the only thing i know about a rally lp is that its made at the same factory where epiphone were used to be made at.
i guess the quality wise shouldn't be that different.

I got my les paul ultra 2 for $1k after a discount at swee lee
its quite good in almost any genre.the nanomag pickups can be used as a
"second"tone control.

the nanomeg pickup is a pickone somewhere veryyyy near the neck right? to simulate acoustic sounds is it? i think i've read something about it before.

however.you cant make a coil tap in the LP ultra2 feature as
it has a special PCB in the back and is very to rewire it

ypu.u can get very nice tone from it.
however, the adhesive on mine was wimpy
and gave way yesterday.had to use some "super" 77 adhesive spray
for where it is placed,it is located between the
neck pu and 22nd fret

if you're out for a lp style guitar, i think an edwards is hard to beat. would set u back abt 1.3k from guitar77 and dang it plays even better than the gibson r8 and standards ive tried.

with 1.5k and you need a guitar/s and an amp. pedalS are out unless you know what you want and just need a few. my recommendation would be a multi effect.
me vote for simple and useful boss me-50

i heard from a friend that the guitar that alexi laiho used from children of bodom is good he bought it and the sound works very well with the distortion. it is a ltd i think..cant remember
