What would you choose? Lets assume that this combination has to cover all bases and you are STRICTLY limited to 5. For me, it would be:

1) Strat HSS
2) Tele
3) LP
4) 335
5) SG with P90s

1) Fender Stratocaster SSS
2) Fender Telecaster
3) Gibson Les Paul Standard
4) Taylor T5 Standard
5) Washburn N4

None of which I have :(

Currently only own a mod-until-cannot-recognize Squier Strat and an Epi LP Goth Studio.

1) Gibson SG Classic with Fralins P90s
2) Gibson SG Standard
3) Gibson-of-the-week SG Standard w/ 3 Single Coils
4) Gibson SG VooDoo modded to EMG ZW Set and routed for floating bridge
5) Gibson SG '61 Reissue modded for Bigsby usage

Hmmm.. That's it? Wah only cover SG liao.. hahaha

Almost got number 1, but don't dare cause never try before and must ship in..
Almost bought number 3, but single coils a lil funny.. Quite nice sound though..
Bought number 2.. Quite a low-medium gain fanatic this guitar is!
Then number 4 came along at a shop after my purchase.. (Haiz)
And number 5 is a longing.. ;)

you modded a SG voodoo for a floating bridge?!?!??????????
oh man.

i got 6 SGs right now.
1. '74 standard.
2. '89 SG-90 w/ factory Schaller and EMG SA/85.
3. '06 SG Classic.
4. '00 '61 RI w/ factory Maestro.
5. '88 Orville by Gibson SG-62.
6. Epi Iommi.

and i got a brand new Epi double neck SG coming...dont ask why :P
also the new Epi double necks spec-wise is closer to the Page model than the older Epi or even Gibson's.
ie. full mahogany.
older Epi had alder bodies, whereas Gibson has maple necks.

i also read that the SG w/ 3-single coils has a swimming pool rout, im waiting for someone to confirm that with me.

for the SG Classic.
if you like the current standards, then its exactly the same cept of cos for the P-90s.
i myself dont like the current standards, but the P-90 overrides that :P

Some people WISH they can afford to have 5 guitars...

Anyway, I'd personally settle for just 2-3, and have them all modded to taste. No favours to any particular brand or models.

1) One with H-H configuration, moderate and high output. C-tuning
2) One with H-S-S configuration, high output hums, moderate/high output single coil and tele-like single coil. A pot to split the humbucker to a single coil. Standard Tuning.
3) Third guitar is something that just looks good, which I don't really play, heh.

All three will have killswitches, and a good reliable tremolo (perhaps a FR type? Haven't decide). Maybe also custom necks with cool looking inlays.

This will happen in a VERY far future...

I doubt 5 guitars will ever be enough for anyone here....

1)Gibson Black Beauty LP 1957
2)Gretsch White Falcon
3)Fender Jimi Hendrix Psychedelic Signature Strat
4)Gibson 1961 SG
5)PRS Private Stock Custom 24

Would it go into the 6 digit price range? ;)
