I doubt its a prestige man. no idoit would be willing to sell it that low.

But if it is, well......GRAB! only thing is the price for restoration if the condition of the guitar isnt what it seems per se.........

haha you make it sound as if the only difference between a normal ibanez and a prestige is the neck =x or is that the main difference? i dunno i dont own an ibanez lol.

the highlight of the Prestige model is indeed the neck. the finishing & focus are definitely there. the body's grade is akin to the mid-priced models.

pictures man... you gotta have the pics of the guitar...

if the headstock reads GIO, it's the budget series. if it reads prestige, it's prestige.

hey ized... friend of mine told me he went to batam and this man was trying to sell an ibanez guitar (not gio, not prestige). the man didnt know the original price, but my friend, thinking it's a good opportunity to get the guitar, haggled the price down to S$350!!!! brought it back, checked it out, and it was a pure ibanez guitar...

haha... i was pretty stunned! the seller was really an idiot!

fiq..i dont think its right to call the seller an idiot..

perhaps the seller was ill-informed or needed money..

The Guitar Owner

Hello hello, this is the said guitar owner, trusted fren of bandmate speaking: My guitar is RG370 with some alphabets like maybe x or something forgot the model again dammit, bad with model names.

I bought for $750 at Swee Lee about a year and a half ago, and then bought the 15 watt amp for $150 few months later at the Swee lee year end sale (original price $200 plus).

I played it for a few months, didn't take it out of the house once, and didn't play that regularly too, cos besides this I have 4 other guitars. Then I had to go New Zealand for 9 months, just came back at the start of Oct. During this 9 months it was kept safely in the gig bag in my fren's cupboard, and since my fren not into music i would assume no one touch it for 9 months.

And I just collected the guitar last weekend back from my fren, it's perfectly good except strings are a bit rusty but can change it easily. I brought it to jam and they said I can get about $400 to $450 for my guitar which is in VERY GOOD condition. (seeing as it's just kept in storage)

Hey Reid u should have just bought the guitar when I offered it for $300, now I'm gonna take a pic and post it to sell for higher price. People who're interested in the Ibanez, please keep a lookout. besides this I'm gonna sell the amp and a shure sm58 mic too.

Guess I was an idiot for thinking it's worth about $200.

in that case, highly likely it's the RG370DX.

there are 2 versions of this, one depicted here (Korean) & one which was only made in 2004 (Japanese) featuring the Edge Pro bridge (the one here sports an Edge III) bridge.

the guitar lists for $850 (the current Korean version), a fair re-sale value (depending on condition) would be $550... 8-)

It does look like mine, except mine doesn't have the whatyacallits, the stick near the pick up. And mine's royal blue.

Hey man I feel embarrassed for owning a guitar I know nothing about, just bought it cos I thought it looks good and the guy at swee lee recommended it saying blah blah 2 pick ups and whatever I didn't really understand, just made it clear to him I want a BLUE guitar, cos Mayday's guitarist's first guitar was a blue Ibanez too. And I managed to get a discount cos my brother knows someone there.

Oops.

So it's really worth $550?

the Royal Blue finish was discontinued last year (2006), this is the current blue replacement:

that 'stick' there can be bought from the shops, no worries...
it's $550+/- 8-)

And to think i almost sold it at 200...

Thanks a lot for your help, I shall take a good pic and post it soon. btw I think the royal blue one looks better than the current one, but guess it's a matter of preference.

And I'm sure a lot of people are rolling their eyes at me caring about the COLOUR more than the pick up or basswood body or whatnots. Sorry man, I don't deserve to own guitars, that's why I'm selling it. Still have 4 more to go though...

maybe some of us are interested in those other 4...? :-o

if you have made any prior agreements to sell at the previous price, hope you honour it.

If anyone here took Contract Law, any verbal offers that are not accepted will be considered rejected. And once rejected, the seller has the right to refuse to sell at previously offered price even if the buyer offers to buy at that price.

So yeah, too bad. If he took up the $300 offer I would have sold him.

hmm that wont excatly be fair, but it's your call man :) but the guy that you were gonna sell too must feel pretty pissed man. ah well

rgds

Yah sorry about it Reid, but $300 is kinda low, and $200 even more so. ok I'm making an official offer to Reid only, cos I open my big mouth and made a stupid offer in the first place.

Final price: $450 including 15 watt leather-skin Ibanez amp, cables, bag, guitar strap, even a bottle of Guitar polish.

Just the Guitar: $390.

If u don't accept then the offer's off, I'll be selling at the normal resale price of $500 to $550 for guitar only. I took pics of it just one step away from figuring out how to upload the pics here.

As for the rest of my guitars I don't think I can sell them, inherited them from an uncle who passed away, they have sentimental value. He used to be a guitarist in local band circles, great guitars. That's why I don't need the Ibanez anyway. But then again, why do I own so many guitars when I can't play...

hehe i've pm'ed jaycomposer and see if i still get the original good offer

:)
