i have RD500 but thinking of changing thunderbird.... but RD500 is really good i scare if i changed i regret.... asking for opinion...

Have you tried out the epiphone goth thunderbird??

if you did, why not you give us your comparison and thoughts between the 2?

maybe from that we can tell which one is better for you.

As for me personally, I've tried both before and i prefer the thunderbird, both in tone and looks. hahaha

but thats just what i feel.

Bryan thanks for the advice. thunderbird i tried itz heavy and yeah the tone is good.... but RD500 sound rock... so im quite blur man..... for tis both bass

I own the RD500. It's a bang for the buck bass with a versatile sound. The T-bird is a very useful bass for rock but if you're intending to play it for other genres, you may find the sound a little off.


Then again, if you know how to tweak it, it could definitely work.

although i would highly advise anyone against getting Epiphone Thunderbirds. they have several flaws compared to the Gibsons, including epic neck dive and bleh tone.

really really true.

holding a thunderbird definitely makes you feel like a rockstar. but if you're intending to play funk, stick to the RD500.

no denying that the thunderbird is nice lah. but yeah, it doesnt match well with funk and all, better to stick with the ibanez. cheers.

this is very very subjective... difficult to compare the 2 cos they are quite different. although i hear many ppl saying that epiphone (and even gibson for that matter) QC is inconsistent, dont know how true that is.

everything considered, i would go for the RD500
