I bought this item last sunday 15 March at City hall MRT station at about 7:30pm, I met the seller, but it took me a week before I finally test the pedal cos I'm too busy last week..
I had lots of deals in SOFT before but this is the only item I got that is not working, cant turn on. I PMed the seller but I really doubt he will reply back.. I discovered that he's got no other post except this one.. I suspect this is a phony account, just to scam people here in SOFT.

I dont boo boo and cry, its just sick to scam honest buyer w 50 bucks,. I hope he will reply though and settle this..

scammers does exist here but I just wonder what are the mods doing to stop or discourage people from doing things like this..

I think I have little advise to fellow SOFTers .. be wary if:
1. the poster doesn't have any other post or few numbers of posts
2. they didn't put their contact number or email

better to bring 9v battery and patch cable to at least check the power of the pedal

I won't be so quick to judge by number of posts, because some just aren't very active on the forums. However, by default, always ask to try before you buy. If the seller agrees, he/she probably doesn't have anything to hide. If they disagree.. Be suspicious.

I don't put my email or contact number on threads cause i don't want to get numerous emails or SMSes unless they've confirmed the deal.

Agree generally with the TS, although I would add, how much can the mods really do? All they can do is warn the buyers. In this case although the seller seems to be the scammer, the onus was on you to ensure the item was in good condition.

At least you aren't crying about it, really hope u don't kena like this next time!

not just me, It is a warning to all..

kerplunk, If you look at the number of your posts, people can see you already build a reputation in SOFT community, for sure many members already have your number. I dont think you want to make a newbie account, and do something silly.

I have been dealing with quite a number of sincere softies for quite sometime now & also came across a few fishy ones. Those which spells 'PHONY' after a few FMs or SMSs.
I wish soft would have a system which buyer could give some sort of a rating or report a con when u see one..

If you have met him personally at some MRT to collect the item, atleast you might have had his mobile no?? why dont call him and see?? if still he is not responding, make a police report for cheating..;)

i agree to a certain extend about the no. of posts thing, but again, there is the reputation system here, there are plenty of bad eggs out there, so we just have to be careful.

thats the main idea of this thread. but I think some don't get it.

while buyers need to test what they buy, I think sellers must test their items too before they sell it.

I feel that the buyers should be a little more cautious about buying their things.

Like it or not, there are people out there merely to scam. They just want to off-load their items for a quick buck then disappear.

Before you buy, insist for testing. I have never bought a music stuff with out testing even it is first hand. I have done numerous buy & sell in this forum, all went well. It's better to be cautious than blaming self and others.
