Guys, I kid you not, the clip you are about to hear is my 13 year old nephew. I loaned him my guitar and amp for 3 days while I was on a trip. He had never touched a guitar in his life and I only showed him how to do power chords so he could have some fun. Well, 3 days later, he's improvising stuff like this! I told him he could be the next EVH if he gets some lessons but he doesn't believe me. He thinks he sucks.

Now don't get me wrong, his technique is sloppy, but he has NO musical background and this is after 3 days! So I talked him into letting me record him (crappy recording, I apologize) and posting the clip to get other opinions. So give him your real opinion on his potential. Thanks.

Hmm. I don't see why it can't be so if he put in the hours into it. All we know he took bits and pieces from other songs and did some bridge to piece them together. Hell, I swear I heard the Godfather's Theme in there.

Then again, i learnt pseudo pick tapping by myself in 15 minutes so...

not surprising... I picked up guitar at 17 and could pay 4 chords by 1st night and was almost all done by 2 weeks....

then later I discovered that playing guitar is a never ending lesson man...

tell yr nephew not to neglect his school books ok? 8)

This sounds fake. Whoever played that definitely had a LOT more practice than 3 days. It's just impossible.
