HI everyone can someone help me out with choices or wilkinson bridges ?
I've seen so many different types of them at the sv website. Can someone explain the differences?
Is it only the measurement?
And wad does the wrench and mounting screws use for?
Also whats the difference with the allparts wilkinson one that goes for $40.

Err okay thanks.
But i was wondering if someone can educate me more on the bridges here. Haven found much useful sites currently.

well, what kind'f bridges are u keen at getting to know more about?
fixed bridge / tune-o-matic bridge / vintage trem bridge / locking trem bridge / floating bridge / locking fixed bridge ???

Fixed bridge: can't whammy. Fender-style
Tune-o-matic: Les Paul-style bridge.
Vintage/locking trem: not too sure, but both can do a slight bit of whammying. This is Fender-style as well.
Floating: if i'm not wrong this would be a FR?
Correct me if i'm wrong.
:p

Are the tune o matics also known as hardtail?
Ic so if i'm using the locking trem dun nid locking nut ? (sorry if i'm saying this wrongly)

Nope, TOM are not hardtail. Hardtail are the ones on a Fender Jim Root Tele(Take for example) :D

tune-o-matics are supplemented by a hard tail- this is where the ball end of the strings are anchored. familiar with Les Pauls, yes? that's the typical tune-o-matic + hardtail combo there, otherwise refer to pic above.

From the conversation i have a question subby. If i were to set my two point tremolo to be floating style so i can change the pitch up and down.
What can i do to help the tuning. i dint quite get u there. Because he mentioned that when u tune one string all of them goes out.
ALSO if i got locking tuners means no nid to have locking nuts?? ( also if i got locking tremolo nid locking tuners or nuts ?)
Is it just choose one?

Also i have i question. Its about string rollers and string trees ? How are they different ?

locking tuners are there to regulate tuning for guitars without locking nuts. if your nut is already a locking version, locking tuners won't be necessary. for guitars without a locking nut, to ensure tuning satability, the nut itself can be swapped with the roller type:

with locking nuts, the string's tuning or tension is locked at the nut position. So, even if the machine heads get slightly turned, the tuning of the strings will still be stable cause the lock-down position is at the nut. Since u're already locked at the nut when using a locking nut, locking tuners wouldn't be of much use, nor would string trees and rollers.
