Some get laughter, they get free advertisment and more revenue from sale. Who stand to gain...

i wouldnt call it indirect advertisment, it IS advertisment. However, they do have a advert banner and their own space in this forum, so i presume they are also paying to keep advertising here.

On the other hand, sometimes whenever a thread mentions a perticular pedal I'd see ebenex's response about their stock almost immediately. It can be kind of annoying sometimes especially towards other dealers. So i guess that is the problem here.

But we cannot deny that ebenex has done a good job in securing many pedal brands that wern't here before, thus widening the range of choices we consumers have(plus giving us a bigger headache heehee).

These are not buy/sell forums. These are not people asking where can they buy. These are not people asking how much the gear costs.

These are people asking for opinions on the piece of gear, tips on how to use them, etc.

This is blatent abuse of the forum. If every thread has several retailers chipping in for no rhyme or reason to advertise what they have even when there is nothing related to that item on the thread at all. (nova reverb on a delay thread?) in their inventory, this whole forum might as well be a buy/sell classifieds.
