I GAS-ed a tuner!!!

the fast tracking i'm referring to is when you play scales really fast, the notes don't change as fast on the tuner, but on the built in tuner in the zoom, it changes immediately.

on high notes, the display changes very very fast, but on the low bass strings it's slower than the zoom.

this is really of no consequence coz it's not supposed to be used this way anyways.

imho I THINK it's because the Zoom uses a digital signal and not an analog signal. Can other digital multi-efx users confirm?

the turbo tuner has 2 steps, from what I understand:

(1) It takes the input signal and digitally approximates the closest note to the signal, and tell the built in frequency generator to generate the reference frequency at that note.

(2) the input signal is also taken as analog to merge with the generated internal frequency to produce the "strobe" effect.

do all tuners work like that?

Have any of your tried one of those clip on tuners? the ones u clip to the headstock.

not all,

as for "strobe" tuners, they work this way.... as in both the generated frequency and the input signal frequency will be merged in order to give the strobe effect, which you can observe the effect - both the spinning disc + light strobe, and this turbo tuner which uses the LEDs to display the merge frequencies.

the other non "strobe" tuners work in different ways.
