i just learning to use Ableton Live 5 but i don't know how i can save the music i composed into mp3 or audio music files so i can listen back...

anybody ot advice.... appreciated thanx! :D

If you need to compress your audio into a lossy standard, do consider LAME as your primary codec to overcome the gapless playback limitation. Alternatively you can consider the newer audio compression formats such as Vorbis and AAC.

cheers

Im qutie surprised Ableton does not come with an MP3 encoder... But shouldnt you be able to export your composition as a WAV file which is WAY better in quality instead? Unless space on your mp3 player is an issue then I got no solution to freeware encoders. I use a Creative software bundled with my audio card to do the conversions.

I agree with persentio that audio in WAV format is superior compared when compared to MP3. There are so many limitation with MP3 audio that makes me wonder why it has become so prevalent as an audio format.

On the other hand, I would like to caution fellow musicians of my mistake when I attempted to export WAV audio at 24bit 96kHz into 16bits 44.1kHz (for audio CD). There can be a significant difference of dynamics from your master if done incorrectly.

Just my 2 cents worth.

done incorrectly because you gotta watch out for your "Quality Level" settings for your DAW when downsampling / quality-loss-encoding to mp3.
