How To Get A Record Deal! Music Business Secrets Revealed!

how beautiful things would be if record labels were chasing musicians, instead of musicians having to go out of their way, most of their time doing things which they'd prefer not to do just to land themselves a contract.

heh, its about business, nothing to do with music.

we should be looking at becoming businessmen playing music and not musician trying to do business...

I think it does has something to do with music, and not all about business - it's music business altogether. To generate income with music, business skill has to involve. But if it's just business with no music, or plainly no interest in music at all, then it's just business.

Most of the reasons apply to local musicians
Especially

'They have more reasons why they can't than why they can!'
'They wait to be discovered. '

SOFT being a breeding ground for some of them.

man, thanks for letting us in on these big SECRETS... NO WONDER i'm not in on this business

anyway to be the greatest musician u just need to play an instrument. everything else is your own prerogative. it depends on your values

Thanks for sharing lacrymosa, very useful tips indeed.

Roninriot,
I guess we can only show them the door, the rest is up to the musician themselves if they want to walk through it.

Me thinks Singapore musicians are same same like musicians in other cities on planet earth.

Gotch one group that wants to make it big (in a big way)
Gotch one group that wants to play for fun - strictly for fun
Gotch one group that wants to play at their respective 'Bay Beats'
Gotch one group that cannot play at all (sucky suck) but rikes to talk about gears
Gotch one group that wants to have an album (at least one please)
Gotch one group that wants to make friends first and music second

The groups are not mutually exclusive in that one peep may be in more than one group at any point in time. But all peeps are witihn the aforementioned groups. Gotch peeps that even move form one gorup onto another.

Me thinks there is nothing wrong being within one or another group. It's still music to everyone.

ps - do take note that the preceeding notes are based on, mostly, non-consentual evidence and thus should not be taken as the absolute truth - kinda like a chain email except this one gotch more ripe and sexay bollocks.
