How popular are capos?

I myself use a capo to help me with natural harmonics of different pitches, because I'm lazy with pinch ones... But I do wonder how popular these little gadgets are in Singapore...

And my fav song to play on capo is if i needed someone by the beatles. That is on a 12 string, capo 7th fret. Wonderful riff, especially if u hear the live version the beatles did in japan

It is one of the most important tools for me, without it I'm pretty much crippled. I use it often to play open chords instead of barre chords. Transposing key with ease.

hmm... songs with capo... i think my fav is no it isn't - +44.. easy to learn, emo and melodic, even better with duo vocals!

since i'm broke no money to buy whammy i use it to transpose key too... lol right now my capo is on first fret for leech - the gazette

Its useful if you want to play in a higher tuning than you are currently at, since you just slap on a capo instead of uptune your entire guitar. I used to play in Eflat, and to get E tuning I'd just place a capo on the first fret. For some stuff, capos aren't necessary but for others, they are. Man, what would I do without a capo?
