How much is a dw5000 single pedal

I'm curious. Just how old are you? I think you have no idea some people like retardrummer save up every single of their penny to buy the stuff they want. We can talk all the gear we want.

We're not born rich like you pre-assume. I had to scrimp and save for my first cymbal.
Drums were never a cheap instrument.

Yea i agree. I aint born rich my friend:)
My parents don't pay a single cent for all my guitars/ drums/ effects and amp.
I feel that if u have the interest, you'll do anything to get u want:)
For me, i really love drums.
It took me years to find the right drum set and cymbals.
Parents gave me 1.5k at first. but after a while i had to return them that 1.5k:)
Same goes for swee sale.

Of course then said, if i were born rich, everything will be easier.
But thats life!
Im sure u will find your own suitable gear!

Wow... some of you guys tok like ya have no trouble affording music equipments...

Good for those who are born rich

Yeah I have no problems affording all the equipment I have because I was born with the surname Lee, I live in a 5 story MANSION, my family owns 19 different cars and 29 different properties in Singapore. Did I mention that my family owns Bras Besah Complex, has shares in Temasek Holdings and I travel to school via private helicoptor?

No? Well FYI my dad's an engineer, my mom's working in healthcare, my brother is schooling, I'm schooling AND working - used to work to pay for my hall fees and misc school fees, but now just working to save up enough and to pay bills. Excess money goes into a seperate account I use to buy equipment with.

Assuming, stereotyping and basically being bitter isn't gonna get you anywhere, neither will it get you any of these "expensive music equipment."

On the contrary, working, saving up and buying smart will.

Hmmmmm. Get a pearl demon drive. its the best ever. i own a single pedal version... =D

Haha thanks for the suggestion bro but I'm trying to save money actually in a way, and looking for a pedal that doesn't do too much of the work for me.

alvyn: U serious about our first paragraph?!?!? especially traveling to school by helicopter??? that is dumbfounding!!!

Yeah Im totally serious bro... NUS allows me to land at its soccer field from 8-10am daily because my dad owns 50% of NUS woohoo.

On hindsight, to TS, I'm sorry if my post came about as very antagonistic - I'm that kind of a person and I tend to say/write things on impulse.

My family's middle-income, and my bro's in poly now, so I try not to impose too much financially on my parents, which explains why I took up PT jobs during sch sem.

Drumming is my hobby, and although I'm playing 3 times a week now, it still will remain as my hobby. Taking into consideration that I'm the only person who will benefit from it, I think it's only fair that whatever expenses I incur come directly from my pocket.

One piece of advice that I can give TS is to set your sights on something - say a Demon Drive pedal, and start setting aside money to save. $50 a month, and you'll just need half a year to save up. It's never good to make caustic comments because somebody owns alot of gear (if that's the case I'd go nuts because I've seen shitty drummers who can't keep time own Tama SCs, paiste sigs, and 3 high end snares myself.), but to know that whatever gear you own belongs to you because you paid for it yourself.

@Mac91:
Get the demon drive bro! It's pricey for sure, but I own one myself and I must say that I'm really loving the feel I get out of it. A few draw backs though... it's VERY shiny and once it gets dirty, it looks quite bad. Also, the beater that comes with it is rather light, so I changed to the pearl quad-beater which is heavier, and the feel, as well as the sound, is wayy better.

i'm quite frustrated because those retailers such as ranking and swee lee do not allow you to try their high end pedals such as DW9002 or the Demon drive.how to decide when you can't even try them out?

yeah especially swee lee. not only you cant try, they dont even allow you to open and check! i bought my pedals there and requested to check. i asked if i can change if there were defects since the pedals werent opened before and has never left the shop and i have not even touched them. they said no. WTH. sweelee seriously... ridiculous pricing + lousy service.

Yeah some of the staff there are imoshit like wat Mr.mouse said.

When i went there looking for stuff, some staff are nice people. Especially the old malay uncle, and a malay lady and a chinese auntie.

Got a lady spent her time looking for stock i requested. I was quite happy she paid so much attention
