How many of you own / played with a Fernandes guitar before?

Namely the Ravelle and Retrorocket models. What are your inputs? I'd like to invest in one that I saw in Yamaha but I'm skeptical. I know I shouldn't let other people's review and stuff obstruct me from buying because if I like the tone and sound that's coming out of it then I shouldn't be bothered with such trivial stuff.

But I'm curious as to how many people have it or have used a Fernandes guitar before. My curiosity was aroused further when I found out that L'arc en Ciel's guitarist, Ken Kitamura plays a Fernandes model guitar.

fernandes guitars are underrated.
top notch QC and many many japanese bands are endorsed by them
the ravelle is an impressive guitar i tried out 2 years ago, great neck, super sutain, well with the sustainer, its like duh..
haha anyway do try them out, fernandes is a brand worth investing in

I own a Retrorocket. Not too certain what model it is, got it way back in 1999 at PS Music Plaza, the last of the MIJ's. The hardware and electronics were a joke though it came with Gotoh tuners. I've since gutted everything and put in Texas Specials, a blend control, CTS pots, a Wilkinson bridge, etc.

If you are looking to get an affordable Strat, do yourself a favour, and get the Squier Classic Vibe. These have been raved about over at TDPRI and TGP.

Does it have the Fernandes Sustainer? How much did you buy it for?

and..who's that guy?

No idea, but he seems to enjoy playing a Fernandes guitar though!

*long pause*

What? Was it something I said?

The Japanese fernandes are great. I have a vertigo elite with sustainer and floyd rose, a "the revival" strat and an APG 85. I really like them. I love the look of the ravelle but the only one I played was a JPC version in Japan and to be honest, for the money, it wasn't that great, however I did think it was that particular guitar that had issues rather than the model
good luck

Beez talked to me alot about yamaha, he says that repairs can be done, but they are very expensive. Fernandes/Burny are not Yamaha's and if they are well built, repairs wouldnt even be needed imho.

Dave Kushner (the underrated guitarist of Velvet Revolver) plays and endorses the Fernandes Ravelle. I've seen them at Yamaha a number of times and they're gorgeous!
