how low slung is your guitar

haha i think he's getting old........don't think a lot of people like jumping around with a big log on their shoulders.....besides there's not much point in jumping all over the place unless it's too punk.....

ok at least he doesnt really jump about in velvet revolver. Dont really see alot of people with les pauls jumping around.t

Greenday's Billie Joe Armstrong uses a Les Paul and he jumps around...... but he's punk so he doesn't count haha.

my guitar is really a pain in the ass. Both the strap nuts are located behind the guitar which results in the guitar being imbalanced. the neck will be pointing downwards if i suspend it on my shoulders. Scary to use it live, though it's the only guitar i have......anybody know how to solve this?????

What guitar is it? Maybe you could opt to relocate the strap buttons to a spot which better balances out the guitar?

you gotta know when to jump also..
my fren dropped his guitar (jem777) becuz of jumpin.. he regretted ... heall yeah

im using Silvertone Sovereign..i was thinking the same thing too but the thing is the guitar is too curvy...will the body break or chip if i put it on the curvy part?? because it's kinda heavy like a les paul

Hmm. You might wanna bring your guitar to a tech and seek his opinion about relocating the strap buttons. I'm not familiar with the sovereign so i can't say anything bout the stresses and possible cracks.

I did have a friend who relocated the strap button of his mockingbird from the back to the upper horn and it worked to balance out the neck heaviness.

from what I initially tot was a trivial thread...I see many varied and interesting answers...here's my 2 cs worth...

I play relatively mid - low (centre of guitar back roughly around croth area) coz I usually slam chords with "windmill" axction and need the clerance when my right arm is fully stretched.

I have found no diffirence having guitar slung high or low when jumping with guitar especially when doing the slips... - juz make sure you have strap locks or yr strap end/button is tite - if not ....chalat...

Comfort and personal feel shud be the key when selecting hight...now I,m so particular abt my strap heihgt dat I'd spent quite a while readjusting it if it was readjusted by someone else... not becoz of lookin cool or not...BB King had his almost to chin level - was he cool or what?

Oddly my bassist (SOT) plays very low as well .. donnno how he can slap bass like dat...

John Petrucci slings too high bt hez one of the legends, Sam Totman from DragonForce slings too low bt he shreds & sweeps like crazy. It doesn't matter how low or high u sling, as long as its comfortable or as long as u can adapt to ur sling fetish  And if u think too high is dorky n too low is cool, fahk ya!

HAy - to REALLY attract gerl...hang GOLD Visa card on the strap then hang low...satisfacory results guranteed...lolz

No man. U dont get it. Hangin low will block the view of ur weenie man. Thtz just wrong man thtz just a turn off
