How high u hang ur GUITAR!

Depends on what guitar I'm using I guess...usually my off-set body guitars + my petite size would make it look lower but it's the same as FGL's preference lah...the crotch level *lol* Just tilt the neck higher for better access lor

I'm impressed by those punk rockers who can do like 1000-alternative-picking palm mute notes per min with their guitars slung at the knees and doing those split jumps!

For my jag, would be this height:

How hi/low its slung depends on the gtr...

I just make sure that when low E notes are fretted, the wrist are can bend comfortably & not stressed as much.
I learnt the hard way that this causes injury. can still feel it...

tom morello's one is sitting height i think. as in when you sit the straps tight so when you stand the guitars in the exact same position. i used to do that but now im trying it slightly lower. still havent actually found the 'right' height for myself

Put high, elbows pain...put low, wrists pain...The perfect height is just like the perfect tone...highly subjective!

Use to have it quite low cause of the whole punk rock thing. But my left wrist started aching abit.

i think it depends on your length of your hand n fingers....

i notice it is natural for people with longer hands tends to hang low....cause more comfy.....to me it feels real good to hang low cause there is more space to swing your guitar for expression...and also don't have the feeling of being choke by the guit....and one last thing...don't feel so warm and hot....cause more ventilationespecially in Singapore weather..

I normally play quite low...Slightly above my knee..like slash and zakk wylde(I'm a fan of them)...If I hang it too high(at the waist or higher), my right hand will get tired very fast cos I'll keep bending my elbow. To me it's really a personal preference. To me sitting down position is not a very optimal position..In fact I have problems in playing while sitting down.

If I need to reach the higher frets then I just do the standing guitar action macam slash...Yeaaah!!

Never had a chance to photograph myself while jamming, but my guitar is usually high-slung. I don't know why but I can't play properly with my guitar at waist level or below, my playing style is based on a high-slung guitar. Its high-slung for both acoustic and electric. Same horizontal level as when played sitting down.

Personally I think John Petrucci looks cool with his high-slung guitar. I like to be technical in my playing so the extra freedom and accuracy is much welcome. For me, its above the waist but no higher either because if its too high, my guitar seems heavier.

And I suspected the third picture was Kerplunk... But who are the two guitarists? :mrgreen: Standard Value forums has a pics of you thread but SOFT doesn't have one yet unless I missed it or something.

Nah, the jag doesn't neck dive...neck dive usually happens for guitars with strap button on the heel of the neck than the cutaway. Thanks for the compliment!
