How high is your action?

Hey, you guys have been mentioning high, medium and low action.
How would you grade mine? The lower strings seem to be buzzing, despite already raising the action a fair bit..

Hmm I think that's around 1.6mm or 2/32" worth of action at the 12th fret. Same as mine on my PRS. A little buzz is perfectly normal at such situations. And it does teach you to be delicate with your touch to avoid buzzing too much.

Oh btw, 2/32" is considered low action, though there's no exact standard really.

I set my relief at 0.007" which is 70% thickness of a 0.010" high e string at the 7th fret while fretting the 1st and last fret of the guitar.

It's extremely comfortable, though I have set my action even lower at 1mm at the 12th fret with liveable buzzing (can't be heard through the amp). But it was hard to play without sounding sloppy ie. everytime you fret a note you do a hammer on inevitably before you can even pick it.

i have mine quite high despite using superstrats like yg1212 rg1570, probably about 2.5mm - 3mm on 12 fret. I prefer no fret rattles at all, yes. Its a habit already, somehow when i play a low action guitar i get chokes easily, not because it is badly setup but something with my fretting fingers. I also like to set my high e string the highest.

Seriously, guys, this buzzing thing can be a thing overrated.

I mean, we all read about how badddd it is...

But frankly, if the buzz doesnt' come out from the amp.

And if you are playing with good amounts of gain...

Then what's the issue? You got no audible fretbuzz from amp, and ur sustain is basically alrighty because you got some gain for compression.

If u wanna check for fretbuzz, play clean, sit down infront of amp and listen to the amp... of course, note that you gotta play the way you usually play.

my tele is 3/64" (around 1mm) on the high E 17th fret, 4/64" (close to 1.5mm) on the low E 17th fret. Neck relieve just a tiny weeny little bit. But still got some buzzing due to uneven fret height at the middle and the end of the fretboard. Think will go to malcolm for a fret leveling.
